If you’re a beauty aficionado, chances are, you’re following some great skin experts on social media.
Or maybe, you have a new-found love or interest in skincare (same), and are looking for some beauty experts to follow for a daily dose of education.
As a beauty writer, I've followed many beauty and skin experts over the years, but I still get excited when I come across a new dermatologist, skinfluencer or dermal therapist on the gram.
But social media is also full of skincare myths and misinformation.
And TikTok skincare trends we really wish would go away.
So, if you're looking to curate your feed with trusted advice from people who know their sh*t, you've come to the right place.
Keep scrolling for a list of dermatologists, dermal therapists, skinfluencers and experts we trust for good skin advice.
And by the way, this was a very hard list to narrow down.

1. Caroline Hirons.

When I sent out a message in our version of the company group chat asking my AB colleagues who their fave skin experts to follow were, one beauty influencer name kept popping up…
If you’re already entrenched in the beauty world, then I’m sure you’ve heard the name Caroline Hirons.
Also dubbed as the “outspoken queen of skincare.”
Caroline has been in the beauty industry for 23 years ( a great ‘beauty influencers over 50’ follow) and is also a trained beauty facialist.
She started channeling her passion for skincare and beauty in a blog 10 years ago (Carolinehirons.com), and amassed a huge following.
She also has a book called ‘Skincare’ which is a “no-nonsense guide to everything you need to know about skin.”
We love peeping her Hall of Fame kits and did you know she crowned Australia’s own SPF brand Ultra Violette as her Brand Of The Year last year?
One of biggest beauty influencers there is, you won't want to miss her posts.
We are always waiting for her beauty expert reviews!
Check out Joanna's podcast episode with the iconic Caroline Hirons below:

2. Dr. Michelle Wong.

Cosmetic chemist and science educator Michelle Wong has recently become one of the biggest skincare influencers.
From busting beauty myths to breaking down the complicated science-y stuff behind product claims, she’s one of the most credible beauty experts there is.
Known on Instagram as @labmuffinbeautyscience and one of the top Australian beauty influencers, she’s been interviewed and referenced by many industry experts and brands globally as a trusted source and authority in beauty.
She also happens to co-host our Skincare School podcast with our Senior Editor Amy covering all the skincare 101s you need to know!
P.S. Season 2 coming soon, stay tuned!
Listen to Skincare School Episode 2 on How To Start a Skincare Routine below:

3. James Vivian.

Handle: @jamesvivian
Meet skin care expert and Dermal Therapist James Vivian (if you’re not already acquainted).
Also known as “the face whisperer”.
(Hoorah for more male beauty influencers!).
James is not just a Dermal Therapist, he’s also the man behind recently-launched beauty brand Viviology.
Wait, there’s more!
He also co-hosted our Dermal Diaries podcast (which you can listen to below) with the next skin expert on our list...

4. Yadira Cauchi.

Dermal Therapist Yadira Cauchi  is a beauty expert for obvious reasons.
She’s one of our regular Beauty IQ writers (you can read all her articles here).
But it’s her hilarious and informative TikToks (often featuring her obliging hubby) that has us giving her and her derm-dedicated page a follow.
If you want small ingestible beauty education bites while having giggle at the same time, give Yads a follow.

5. Hannah English.

Handle: @ms_hannah_e
Another skin scientist, you can also count Hannah English as a trusted source in beauty.
Hannah is a regular in Australian beauty podcasts, articles and interviews, and did we mention she also has her own skincare serum AND she’s written a book?
Yep, she’s a talented and smart gal!
One of the most prominent Melbourne beauty influencers, her valuable beauty expertise is often called on by beauty industry insiders.
And beauty experts often look to Hannah for beauty education (particularly around SPF).
Oh and we dare you not to fall in love with her consistently sparkly, bold and beautiful eye makeup looks!

6. Dr. Aegean Chan.

Dr Chan's Instagram bio reads:
"Unbiased, evidence-based skincare from a board-certified dermatologist."
From sunscreen tips to acne myths, Dr Chan tells it like it is.
Side note, she's currently pregnant and is busting a bunch of pregnancy beauty myths.
A must-follow for anyone in the same boat feeling overwhelmed or anxious about what they can and can't put on their face.

7. Elle McNamara.

As far as skinfluencers go, @bambidoesbeauty is top tier.
She has her own column in Glamour... and Insta-famous eyebrows.
And while you'll spot some gorgeous makeup looks and bouncy hair hacks, her feed is full of product recommendations and skincare tips for a 'less is more' approach to beauty.
We stan.

8. Sakura Aoki-Danielson.

Starting her Instagram during the pandemic and collecting over 17,000 followers, Sakura has a very engaged skin audience.
On one of her posts, she says, "At the end of the day, acne is normal and we do not automatically default to having bad skin because of it. It should really be that simple."
And we love her for that alone!

9. Dr. Ewoma Ukeleghe.

Dr Ukeleghe's bio reads:
Award-winning Medical & Cosmetic Doctor. Founder @skndoctor. Contributing Editor @elleuk and Columnist @womenshealthuk.
You’ll spot a lot of Adore Beauty-stocked brands on Dr Ewoma Ukeleghe's Instagram including Hada Labo, Vida Glow, Alpha H and The Ordinary to name a few!
I never tire of scrolling through her gram. Trust us, you won’t either!
We also love her no judgement, practical advice around cosmetic injectables.

10. Blanche, The Beauty Bloss.

We'll let Blanche's website intro do the talking...
"I talk a lot about skincare, makeup and beauty in general. Some random bits here and there too if that ok with you?!"
Glistening skin and a great beauty mix is what you'll find here.
Blanche shares her skincare routines skewed towards hydration, age management and sensitised skin.
But her fragrance collections and makeup recommendations are glorious, too.

11. Gloss Etc.

Handle: @gloss.etc
Gloss.etc is the brainchild of two of the most respected and experienced beauty editors in Australia.
Sarah Tarca and Sherine Youssef join beauty expert forces to deliver a bite-sized beauty newsletter to your inbox every week.
From bargain to bougies, reviews and influencer picks - it's got everything you need for your very informed beauty fix.
This list cannot be called a skin experts list without them on it!
I wait very impatiently for my gloss.etc. newsletter every week, and consume their Instagram content while I'm waiting.

12. Maddie Edwards.

One of the biggest and best changes we’ve seen in beauty over the years is showing more ‘real skin’ rather than Face-tuned or airbrushed pictures.
Because skin texture, pores and blemishes are normal, and we all have them.
Digital content creator Maddie Edwards (another staff fave in the AB office) showcases this beautifully, along with her fave beauty products.
Hers is a refreshing and helpful page in a sea of same-same.

13. Dr. Shereene Idriss.

Currently one of the top skincare influencers in the world, New York-based Dermatologist Shereene Idriss already has credibility as a Board Certified Derm.
But it's her Pillow Talk lives with guests including Jenna Lyons, Mindy Kaling, Marianna Hewitt and @violette_fr that cultivated her impressively following on Instagram.
Her punchy YouTube videos have also made her one of the top YouTube beauty influencers.
Shereene calls out the BS and makes beauty jargon and skincare easier to understand.

14. Amelia Singson Kemp.

You may have already seen this lovely face on Adore Beauty’s social channels.
Another multi-talented beauty expert, Amelia Singson is an all-rounder beauty expert, makeup artist and skincare aficionado.
Amelia also creates beautiful and informative beauty content for our channels, both on YouTube and Beauty IQ.
Follow Amelia for genius (but so damn simple) beauty hacks, and her high-low daily skincare routines mixing and matching cosmeceutical, Korean and pharmacy brands.

15. Tegan Mac.

A skincare influencers roundup wouldn’t be complete without this skincare expert.
Skin Therapist Tegan Mac was a skin saviour during the pandemic.
Offering her skincare advice and sharing her beauty wisdom on IG lives, she still offers online skin consults to fit it with life’s new normal.
We also love how Tegan shares all the different ways healthy skin can look, along with the products and treatments she's trialling.

16. Derm Angelo.

Handle: @dermangelo.
Dr Angelo Landriscina is a self-appointed 'derm daddy' best known for their highly entertaining and informative reaction videos unpacking people's skin habits.
Come for the lols, stay for the skincare myth-busting.

17. Ruchi Page.

Handle: @ruchipage
When I think of the question, ‘how does social media influence beauty standards?’, I think of Ruchi Page.
Ruchi is forever championing body positivity and diversity in beauty.
Alongside the makeup looks, skincare routines and fashion inspo, her captions are insightful and always good food for thought.

18. Nissie Bungbrakearti.

Handle: @thisisniss_
Thai Australian content creator @thisisniss_'s page is a combination of cool infographics, skin close ups and much more.
More importantly, if you’re currently dealing with acne and want someone to follow who has also suffered from cystic acne, follow along with Nissie's skin journey.
We’ve already peeped some Adore Beauty cult faves in her feed!
