I'm just going to say it. I don't believe in monogamy when it comes to haircare products.
In my humble opinion, there are just too many excellent shampoos, conditioners, treatments and
scalp scrubs to commit to one brand.
Forever is a long time, and I wash my hair a lot.
So if a hair product makes it into my regular washing or styling routine, you know it's legit.
When our haircare buyer told me we were launching a new Scandi hair brand called
Nine Yards, I was mildly intrigued.
Then, I heard celeb colourist and stylist extraordinaire Jaye Edwards is a fan, and I politely swiped a couple of bottles from the samples box.
Keep scrolling for my Nine Yards hair review, including all the details on this little-known brand.
Warning: Swishy, bouncy, salon-worthy hair ahead.

My Nine Yards Review.

Alrighty, let's talk about the Nine Yards haircare products that have earned a permanent spot in my bathroom.
A bit about my hair - it's fine, thinning and sits a bit lank from the day after I wash it.
I've never coloured my hair and my styling routine is fairly low key (I'm talking blow drying and maaaaybe a hot brush or straightener through it if I'm bothered), so I look for hair products that add body and shine over moisture and bond repair.
This is why the pink volume shampoo and conditioner looked like a bit of me, and lordy, I'm impressed.
Packed with glycerin, shea butter, green tea, aloe vera and wheat protein, the Nine Yards volume shampoo and conditioner are winners for fine, limp, volume-lacking hair.

The bold, geometric packaging is functional, but makes me feel like a 'cool girl'.
Together, they elevate my shower aesthetic from a 2 to a solid 7.
(Not much the products can do to spruce up my naff tiles, sadly.)
Nine Yards Go Loud Volume Shampoo 300ml is gentle yet effective as my second shampoo - I like to shampoo first with a dedicated scalp care product - and a small dollop gives you a luscious velvet-y foam.
Nine Yards Big Noise Volume Conditioner 300ml has a creamier, richer texture that's somehow not heavy. I apply this from the ears down and leave for around 60 seconds before rinsing out.
The result is super shiny, soft hair with a lovely bounce. My hair strands appear fuller and thicker too, as if I'd had hair filler.

But oh my gosh, we need to talk about how bloody great these hair products smell.
The official word on the scent is Gallic Rose Extract, but I reckon it smells like sherbet.
It's salivatingly good. And the scent lingers for days, too.
My partner commented on how nice my hair smelt a good two days after washing it - which is saying something, given how greasy my roots were by that point.
Same pink packaging and yummy scent as the volume range.
It's unlike any other 'sea salt spray' I've tried.
This salt spray does a great job of extending blah hair that needs a wash, without adding a gritty residue or smelling like the ocean.
You can spritz through damp hair before styling or leave to air dry for lived-in texture.
But let me tell you how I used it to get this 90-second before and after hair transformation.

Shake the bottle and spritz generously all throughout the hair, focussing on the roots.
Then, tip your head over and blast with your hairdryer on cool-to-medium heat until dry.
I like to use the nozzle attachment on the hairdryer to straighten out any sleepy cowlicks, and zhoosh with my fingers for extra root lift.
Flip your head back up and I guarantee you'll have a significantly less greasy-looking mop with rock and roll texture and shape that makes you look like you put effort in.
So, final verdict?
Nine Yards gets a 12/10 from me.
If you’re chasing soft, shiny, swishy hair that smells *ridiculously good*, add these hair goodies to cart.
Stock up now, because I have a feeling you're about to see this niche brand everywhere.
