When it comes to skincare, hydration and brightening are two things I look for because growing up, I battled dark spots.
Hyperpigmentation became my best friend in my teenage years well into my twenties, and after trying countless products, I discovered that the best one to keep that
shadow at bay was vitamin C.So, when I heard about Skinstitut's Vitamin C Ceramide Moisturiser, I knew I had to give it a try.
But before we get into the review, let’s talk about what makes this Skinstitut vitamin C product different from other vitamin C moisturisers on the market.
What Is the Skinstitut Vitamin C Ceramide Moisturiser?
The Skinstitut Vitamin C Ceramide Moisturiser is a powerhouse product formulated with vitamin C, specifically Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (for the skincare aficionados out there), to tackle uneven skin tone and brighten your complexion.
Trust me, as someone who's battled pigmentation issues for years, I can appreciate a good vitamin C product!
Why This Vitamin C Moisturiser Stands Out:
Ceramides: These little gems work to strengthen your skin's barrier, locking in moisture and preventing dryness. Picture them as tiny bodyguards for your skin, ensuring it stays hydrated and happy.
Hyaluronic Acid: Known for its hydrating superpowers, this ingredient plumps the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It's like giving your skin a tall glass of water!
Suitable for all skin types: The brand claims this moisturiser is ideal for everyone, particularly those grappling with pigmentation, dryness, or early signs of ageing.
Now, I can already hear some of you asking, “But wait, can you use a Vitamin C moisturiser every day?”
Absolutely!
Just like Rome wasn’t built in a day, neither is clear skin.
Consistency is key, and this product can help brighten your complexion over time.
Just remember to apply it in the morning and follow up with sunscreen, as vitamin C can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.
Now let’s see if it lives up to the hype!
My Skinstitut Vitamin C Ceramide Moisturiser Review.

Upon squeezing the product out of the tube, I was instantly impressed by how lightweight it felt—somewhere between a gel and a cashmere texture.
As it sank into my skin effortlessly, I was left with a soft, velvety finish that felt luxurious.
For someone who's used moisturisers that feel heavy and greasy, this was a refreshing change.
As for the smell, those with sensitive noses will be thrilled to know that it’s not fragrance-heavy. With slight citrus notes, it’s quite pleasant and easy to handle—and not overly offensive.
Now for the juicy stuff: did it live up to the expectations I had of it?
In short, yes. But not for what you’d think!
As someone with combination skin whose skin is quite sensitive, I found that right after I applied the moisturiser, the redness around my jawline began to calm down, and my skin felt more balanced.
This calming effect was a pleasant surprise.
I put it down to the peptides in the formula, which are known for their soothing properties which has been particularly comforting given the temperamental spring weather we’ve been experiencing lately.
In the past, I’ve relied on soothing balms to calm down skin irritation, but due to the thicker texture those have often left my skin feeling suffocated with a slightly greasy residue.
As for how it fared for my hyperpigmentation, it’s been about two weeks, and I can honestly say my skin feels brighter.
That being said, I pair this product with other tyrosinase-inhibiting products, which have also contributed to the even nature of my skin.
If you’re curious about a solid skincare routine, I highly recommend pairing this moisturiser with
Skinstitut’s Even Tone Super Serum and
Skinstitut Brightening Vitamin C Powder.
Together, they create a powerful trio targeting hyperpigmentation while keeping your skin hydrated and radiant.
Final Verdict.
If vitamin C hasn’t worked for you in the past and dullness and hydration are concerns, Skinstitut’s Vitamin C Ceramide Moisturiser could be a game changer in your skincare routine.
It’s lightweight, calming and hydrates without the greasy feel, blending a derivative of vitamin C (so it’s not as irritating) with peptides and hyaluronic acid.
This makes it perfect for those with combination or sensitive skin.
While I wouldn’t say it’s a quick fix for dark spots, pairing it with their Even Tone Super Serum and Brightening Vitamin C Powder will create a solid morning routine for anyone looking to transform their skin.
