I remember when I first got sent
the Hada Labo range to trial.
We had just launched the brand, which is known as
Japan’s No.1 skincare line, at Adore Beauty.
To be completely honest, I didn’t have super high expectations.
I try a lot of products containing hyaluronic acid (what Hada Labo are known for formulating their popular products with), and it’s rare that I’m blown away by a product that doesn’t contain highly active skincare ingredients.
But boy was I blown away by the Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel.
Every time I used it, my skin looked super hydrated and plump, and the formula worked perfectly under my makeup.
And then I looked at the price… $36!! Well, $35.95 to be exact.
I read some of the reviews on the website and people were just as obsessed as me.
I felt like they took the words out of my mouth:
“Heaven on the skin”.
“Affordable and luxurious”.
“Gives your skin a gorgeous glow”.
“Has a beautiful plumping effect”.
“I’ve recommended this to all my friends”.
So, what the hell is Hada Labo’s secret?
What Is Hada Labo’s Super Hyaluronic Acid?

The secret ingredient to the Hada Labo range is their iconic Super Hyaluronic Acid™.
It combines three different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate the skin without any sticky residue.
Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient that anyone can use in their skincare routine.
It’s known for its ability to attract up to a thousand times its weight in water.
The main benefits of using hyaluronic acid in your skincare routine are:
Reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Instantly smoothing and plumping the skin.
Delivering hydration to dry and/or dehydrated skin.
Hada Labo is best known for their
Hada Labo Lotion No.1 Super Hydrator 150ml , which is a bestseller in Japan.
I don’t regularly use essences (I have enough steps in my skincare routine!), so my favourite product from the range is the Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel.
What is Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel?

Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel 50ml is a lightweight moisturiser suitable for all skin types.
It's especially great for oily skin gals like me.
Here's what else you need to know:
It contains a high percentage of Hada Labo Tokyo’s Super Hyaluronic Acid™ for long-lasting hydration.
It has a unique gel-cream texture, which sinks quickly into the skin without any heaviness and leaves no sticky residue.
It’s got no scent or fragrance, so will be suitable for sensitive skin.
It immediately plumps the skin, reduces the signs of dehydration and creates a smooth canvas for makeup application.
It also contains green tea which is known to provide antioxidant protection from environmental aggressors.

My Hada Labo Intense Hydrating Skin-Plumping Gel Review.
One of the biggest reasons I love this moisturiser is it combines the benefits of your favourite hyaluronic acid serum with that of a hydrating gel moisturiser.
I love anything that plumps my skin!
And this moisturiser delivers on that promise.
It’s the perfect gel moisturiser for oily skin gals.
I find this gel delivers a dewy, glowy finish without making me look oily.
And that’s exactly why I love wearing it under makeup.
If you have oily skin, I highly recommend using this moisturiser under a matte foundation (like
Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Makeup Foundation) to add a touch of dewiness to the finish.
It layers beautifully with other skincare too, including SPF.
I haven’t found any pilling with this product.
This moisturiser would be a great travel companion too.
If you usually wear heavier creams, you might find the cream doesn’t sink into the skin in a tropical climate.
So, if you have dry skin and still want an ultra-hydrating moisturiser, this one would work perfectly when you’re travelling somewhere humid.
But honestly, the best thing about this product is the price.
I am a sucker for bargain skincare that actually works.
I actually couldn’t believe how effective it was at such an affordable price.
It’s a win for oily skin gals… and a win for our wallets.
