As a
dry skin sufferer, dry lips come part and parcel in the wild and unpredictable world of dryness.
I'm not kidding, it's like the Sahara Desert here sometimes.
It has taken me years to crack (pun intended) the code to combatting my dry skin with serums, moisturisers and the likes, but never have I done a deep dive into how to help get my lips to their juiciest selves.
The cracked, sometimes sore, sometimes stingy, sometimes a little red and swollen life just isn't for me, I just want to be one of those girlies whose lippy glides on perfectly.
So, I went out to the big wide world of
lip care in search of the best lip treatments on the market.
An overwhelming category at times, and certainly one that is having its moments on social media.
The criteria for my search were products that I could reapply daily, that felt soothing on both application and throughout its wear, were reasonably priced (but I was willing to pay a little more for a holy grail product) and lastly, I was looking for a product that noticeably aids in the repair of my dry, cracked lips.
Keep scrolling for my 4 favourites that I feel matched my criteria the most...
1. Aesthetics Rx Ultimate Lip Perfecter.

It's in the name really, a newbie on the block from one of my favourite brands, the
Aesthetics Rx Ultimate Lip Perfecter tops the list.
Fast Facts:
Has a metal tip applicator to help sooth and plump lips.
Formulated with a peptide and hyaluronic acid complex, antioxidants, ceramides and vitamin F to leave lips feeling nourished, plump, protected and strong.
Volumises lips for a plumper appearance.
In larger packaging than traditional lip treatments, so it's definitely not one for your handbag, unless you have a big handbag then you do you. I would keep this at home for when your lips need extra TLC.
I love this because:
The formula isn't too thick and has a 'barely there' feel.
The metal applicator is game-changing, and the best part is that you can keep it in the fridge for extra soothing properties.
This one is the most like a clinical treatment for your lips.
2. Alpha-H Absolute Lip Perfector with Peppermint.

The perfect amount of subtle pepperminty goodness to help soothe my dry lips.
Fast Facts:
A blend of hyaluronic acid, peptides, beeswax and zinc oxide to help dry and chapped lips.
Peppermint flavoured.
Can be used as prep for lipstick.
Contains collagen-boosting properties.
A great size to pop into your glove box or handbag.
I love this because:
I'm a fan of peppermint-flavoured anything.
The subtle peppermint flavour gives a lovely cooling effect and you can feel it working on your lips almost straight away.
It's not too thick and it also wore nicely throughout the day.
3. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres Lips Repairing Lip Balm.

Surely the name Cicaplast will spike up your ears if you're a lover of the cult favourite
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5+ 40ml .
Fast Facts:
The
La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Levres Lips Repairing Lip Balm is formulated with 10% shea butter and 5% panthenol to repair dryness.
It's ideal for dry skin and sensitive skin types.
Is fragrance-free.
A little goes a long way!
A great price for the amount of product you actually need to use.
I love this because:
It's a no frills sort of product.
It does exactly what it says it will do and does not have any flavour or fragrance to it.
I used it overnight as a lip mask and woke to softer and more hydrated lips.
4. Laneige Lip Glowy Balm.

The
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm 10g is for my sweet tooth in the room (me!), who love anything sweet to give their lips that juicy puckered up feeling.
Fast Facts:
I tried the Berry flavour and it has a slight pink tinge to it which matched my lip colour perfectly.
Contains shea butter, antioxidants and vitamins A, E, and F to lock in hydration and restore skin.
It comes in Berry, Grapefruit and Peach flavours.
Good for on-the-go.
A great alternative to a lipstick if your lips are crying for hydration and repair but still need a bit of colour.
I love this because:
I'm a sucker for pink lipgloss, or anything pink in that case.
If you love the
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask 20g and you want something a little less like a mask, I would suggest using the Lip Glowy Balm.
