I’ve always had dry skin but during winter? Flake city.
My skin is picky; dry, easily-flushed, and blemish-prone (hormonal chin pimples can GTFO). This means I’m hesitant about new skincare, I have three moisturisers that I switch between pretty religiously but in the past few months none of them have helped budge the winter dryness.
It’s a cult-favourite, an icon, a skincare-saviour. It’s basically sacrilegious that I work in beauty and have never touched the stuff to my skin.
I’ve tried (and loved)
IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream SPF50, but I’d never tried any IT Cosmetics skincare before. It’s a little pricey compared to my regular lineup of moisturisers, but my skin was crying out for a *little treat*.
I finally jumped on the bandwagon and tried Confidence in a Cream and
Confidence in an Eye Cream. Spoiler alert—I finished them both.
IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream.

Fast facts:
What It Is: A rich, hydrating moisturiser designed to target multiple signs of ageing.
Key Promise: Deeply hydrate and moisturise the skin. Boosts firmness and elasticity, and minimises the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
If you’re skincare-obsessed, you’ve probably heard of Confidence in a Cream. It’s packed with a buffet of skincare ingredients (see below) that layers gorgeously under makeup. It’s got a mountain of
rave reviews and die-hard fans.
I tried the supercharged version of Confidence in a Cream—last year, it got a bit of a formulation makeover which amped up the potency of the original formula.
The brand has added ingredients to the supercharged formula to help speed up the results and keep skin plump and hydrated for longer.
Ingredients:
The moisturiser contains all the ingredients my dry skin gravitates towards, and yes, I’m kicking myself for not giving it a chance sooner.
4% Niacinamide: helps to brighten, even out skin tone and regulate oil.
3% Squalane: hydrates and supports the moisture barrier and reduces transepidermal water loss.
2.5% Peptide-Lipid Complex: Reduce the appearance of fine lines by plumping up the skin.
Ceramides: lipids that strengthen and reinforce the skin barrier.
Hyaluronic acid: our ultra-hydrating queen! Supports elasticity and helps retain moisture.
My IT Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Supercharged review:

If I haven’t made it obvious already—I loved both. My winter skin was in hydration heaven.
The moisturiser had a buttery silky-smooth texture and didn’t leave an oily finish. It melted into my skin almost straight away and didn’t leave any residue.
I was a little put off when I opened the moisturiser for the first time and a bit of fragrance wafted out (usually a no-no for my skin) but I didn’t notice any redness or irritation pop-up!
This texture is different from what I’m used to, so I started by only using it as a nighttime moisturiser. If your skin is already used to a heavier formula and you’re looking for a night cream, IT Cosmetics also has one cutely called ‘
Confidence in Your Beauty Sleep.’
It absorbed pretty quickly and when I did use it in the mornings, it layered well with my sunscreen.
Although my skin felt immediate relief from all the winter-induced dryness, the real turning point came after about two weeks—my skin lasted the whole day without feeling dry or tight (miracle).
If you've got dry skin and find that your makeup slips, flakes or gets annoying patchy, I’d really recommend giving this a go for skin prep. I noticed that less of my foundation settled in my pores and it did keep my skin looking dewy.
I’m in my 20s, so I’ll spare you from having to read my thoughts about any anti-ageing effects but I can confidently say that it made my skin plump and very soft—that kind of soft where you want to keep touching your face.
IT Cosmetics Confidence in an Eye Cream.

Fast facts:
What It Is: An eye cream formulated for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Key Promise: Reduces the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines, while providing deep hydration.
Ingredients: Infused with caffeine, peptides, hyaluronic acid, and niacinamide to brighten, firm, and smooth the under-eye area.
My IT Cosmetics Confidence Eye Cream review:
Despite everyone heavily recommending them, I’m not an avid eye cream user. There’s no particular reason (I think I’m just too lazy to do it consistently).
I have been noticing some dark circles and puffiness around my eyes, so I was keen to try this one out.
It has a similar silky texture to the moisturiser, just a tad thinner. In true confidence style, it melted in well and layered like a dream under my makeup (eye cream for dark circles that makes undereye concealer pill should be banned).
I’ve tried a few eye creams before that have made me break out or caused a bit of congestion, I am relieved to say that this one didn’t!! I felt hydrated and de-puffed, without any heavy residue or pilling.
Hot tip—you can summon a bit of alertness in the morning if you use your wintery cold fingertips to pat on eye cream.
IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep.

Fast facts:
What It Is: An eye cream formulated for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Key Promise: Hydrate and restore the skin overnight, while reducing the appearance of fine lines and promoting plumper, firmer skin.
Ingredients: Our star ingredients here are ceramides to strengthen the skin barrier, hyaluronic acid to hydrate and plump, and adenosine to support collagen production.
My IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep review:
This ceramide-packed ultra-hydrating wonder is a winner if you’re seeking a richer night cream to help refine skin and reduce fine lines.
The slight lavender scent is calming without being overly powdery (aka it won’t remind you of grandma’s talc).
It’s also pillow-proof so you won’t be losing half of it to your sheets (you’ll see what I mean, the bouncy texture is somewhere between a jelly and a moisturiser, very cool).
It’s a good product to add to your sleep routine when you’re looking for a wind down with the bonus of waking up with plump and dewy skin.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Serum.

Fast facts:
What It Is: A non-comedogenic redness-reducing serum.
Key Promise: To reduce redness and strengthen the skin. Acceptable for skin prone to redness and rosacea.
Ingredients: 1% colloidal oatmeal to help support the skin moisture barrier, Centella to calm and soothe, and peptides to comfort and repair.
My IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Redness Serum review:
Firstly, I love that this serum is mineral oil and fragrance-free. The green tint also helps to immediately reduce facial redness.
It contains ingredients famous for their soothing properties and is marketed as non-comedogenic to ensure fixing your redness doesn’t come at the expense of super-clogged pores (the worst).
It’s lightweight, so it won’t trap heat next to your face and feels silky smooth on your skin. I especially love dabbing another layer on the redness around my nose for a little extra neutralising.
This is not going to provide you with makeup-like redness coverage, but it is a skin-friendly way to tone it down a notch and make your skin look more even.
If you want to use makeup though, this also works as a great primer.
Final Verdict.
My final verdict can be summed up in one interaction—I went away on a girl's trip during this trip and one of my friends was complaining about dry skin, I offered up Confidence in a Cream on the first day and we ended up sharing a moisturiser the entire time (that’s true love right there).
She was an instant convert, and I was too! I’ve added another moisturiser and an eye cream into my rotation.
If you’re looking for a dry-skin saviour this winter, this is 100% your guy. It might be a bit too rich for oily skin types, but my breakout-prone, dry and sensitive skin was in heaven.
