Calling all
K-Beauty fans…
I have an exciting announcement:
Beauty of Joseon is available at Adore Beauty!
Known for its luxurious 'Dynasty Cream', not only is the whole line super chic and would elevate the look of any skincare drawer, a lot of the products in the range also come at a price tag that
won’t break the bank.Whether
calming my skin in summer or the brutal Melbourne winter, my skin could always do with some TLC (my pockets could also use the savings these days), so when our Senior Beauty Editor Sadaf asked me if I was keen to road-test this K-Beauty range, my immediate response was, "heck yes."
The beautiful packaging was obviously too gorg not to post on the 'gram, but the excitement for my road-test was something I didn’t anticipate.

What is Beauty of Joseon?
Beauty of Joseon is a Korean skincare brand that utilises herbal ingredients that have been used since the Joseon Dynasty.
They formulate all of their products with the intention of ‘giving a present’, combining ingredients that have been consumed as medicinal herbs for years with modern actives to help achieve a particular goal.
Conveniently included in each product’s name, their goal-centred skincare makes it easy to navigate if you know your own specific skin goals.
For example, if it's glow you’re after, opt for the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum.
From the packaging to the formulas themselves everything gives incredibly calm vibes and their products are made to really nourish and work with your skin - instead of trying to shapeshift it, y’know?
Plus, all Beauty of Joseon products are cruelty-free and not made with artificial fragrances.
Hell yeah!
Now let’s take a closer look.

My Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water review:
I love a good watery hydrator in the toner/essence step of a skincare routine.
I think of it as dampening the sponge that is my skin, so my serums can soak in.
You can use the Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water both morning and night by simply pressing it into clean skin.
From there, you follow with your usual serums and moisturisers.
Using the Ginseng Essence Water on the neck is really nice too, it doesn’t leave the skin sticky and is a great hydrator for my often neglected neck area.
The Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Essence Water is also scentless and gentle enough that anyone and everyone can use it!

The great thing about Beauty of Joseon products is that it's so damn easy to use.
For the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum, simply pop a few drops onto your fingertips and distribute it evenly all over your clean skin, and follow up with the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream or your favourite moisturiser.
I loved how lightweight the Glow Serum is and how easily it glided across my face.
My skin soaked this stuff right up! It left it looking so juicy and plump.
I especially love using it during the day for its ability to make my skin look so bouncy.
I also noticed that my base makeup is that much more elevated when I use the Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum as part of my skin prep.
It’s formulated with niacinamide which evens out skin tone and ensures that skin is as dewy as ever.
Plus, it can be used by all skin types - dry, oily or sensitive!

Pop on your moisturiser afterwards. You can use or layer this product with literally any other serum you own.
As I’d expect from a calming serum, it's very nourishing and will come in handy for the upcoming cooler months.
I’m personally not in need of anything in the anti-redness department which is why I have my trusty acne-prone, sensitive-skinned boyfriend who loved this one.
It truly lives up to its calming name, no fluff, it just does the job and does it well.
For those looking for a hydrating, anti-redness serum, opt for this one. It’s serious bang for your buck.

My Beauty of Joseon Revive Serum review:
First thing first: the Revive Serum provides immense hydration thanks to super hydrating ingredient, snail mucin, which leaves the skin ever so juicy.
It’s lightweight on the skin while still being super nourishing.
It felt divine layered on top of my exfoliating acids and as we venture into winter, the Revive Serum will be a saviour especially for those with dry skin.
I’d recommend the Revive Serum to any and all skin types, especially mature and/or sensitive skin types as it helps to strengthen the skin’s barrier.

My Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum review:
Alpha-Abrutin (contained in the Glow Deep serum) is notorious for making skin shine, but I’ve never actually used this active ingredient before and, spoiler alert, it did not disappoint.
The formula itself was very soothing and still quite hydrating. There’s no tingles, just luscious hydration while brightening the skin.
It worked well on my partner, who didn’t complain about any stinging and as someone who has acne scarring, he noticed some radiance there too.
If you want a serum to support your pigmentation, scarring or dark spots routine, I would reach for the Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum.

My Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream review:
The Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream is exactly what I look for in a moisturiser: something simple, hydrating and for less than $40, obviously great value.
I applied a grape-sized amount both morning and night (following my serums) and massaged it into my skin.
It's formulated with nourishing ingredients like rice bran water, ginseng root water and squalene which complement my skincare routine that's full of exfoliating acids.
It works with my partner’s super-sensitive skin which means it can basically be used by everyone.
All in all, the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream is a basic, lightweight moisturiser in the best way and definitely something I’d repurchase.
Final Verdict…

The whole Beauty of Joseon brand really resonates with the type of person I aim to be, as dramatic as that sounds, it's calm, cool and very gentle.
For $33 buckaroos a serum, you’re getting a high-quality product that will actually take care of your skin, sprinkled in with some barrier-strengthening.
Now I understand why my sister-in-law, who is very particular with her skincare, raves about Beauty of Joseon.
The Beauty of Joseon Glow Serum and Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum were stand-out products for the glow they gave. I also can't wait to try the viral
Beauty of Joseon eye cream (an anti-ageing eye serum that's powered by ginseng and retinal)
And the Beauty of Joseon Calming Serum is a fantastic, budget-friendly alternative for some exxy calming/anti-redness serums out there.
Great value, quality products, a must-have for winter. You should just add these to your cart now.
