The New Viral NYX Products Under $50 You Need to Know About

If I don't lay down a primer first, my makeup basically packs its bags and leaves by noon.
And what that means is, my base turns patchy, my aggressively oily T-zone basically devours my foundation and any hope of a long-lasting base vanishes.
So when I spotted the new NYX glue primer that's going viral on TikTok thanks to its nostalgic school glue-like packaging but even more impressive, its gripping power and promise of a flawless finish, I added one to cart immediately. Yes, with my own money.

I tried all of these new viral NYX products over a gloomy, rainy Sydney weekend (the ultimate road-test) so keep scrolling for my honest thoughts...

My NYX Glue Primer Review
First lets cover texture as the name literally has “glue” in it.
I braced for something thick, sticky, maybe even a little school-supply-adjacent.
But surprise: it glides on more like a lightweight moisturiser than anything you'd find in a stationery drawer.
I instantly noticed the glass-like sheen it gave my skin just like it gave the content creators I saw on TikTok and even though I was touching my face and did the grip test, it didn't feel too sticky or tacky which gets a huge tick for formulation in my books!
What's the grip test I speak of?
I’ve seen a bunch of content creators test the gripping power of these tiny but mighty primers by sticking random things on their face (lol).

So I tried it too…
And yep—it did grip for a few solid seconds, which gave me high hopes for my foundation, but I was keen to see if my blush would stay on all day too.
Even more impressive though? Its holding power and how flawlessly my foundation glided on.
No pilling. No patchiness. Just smooth, even coverage. Somehow, it holds your makeup in place without feeling like glue.
But, did my makeup last more than a few hours?
I had applied my makeup in the morning, went for a walk, ate, had my essential Saturday nap and at 6:30PM my base still looked pretty fresh:
My under eyes had faded a little (standard) but my blush was still very much on and gripped. It didn't look like I had applied my makeup eight hours ago.
For an under $30 primer - that's really impressive.

The day after trying the NYX glue primer, I applied the primer AND and the setting spray together.
I was a little shocked at this one…
Shocked that a budget setting spray didn't shoot out in uneven splotches and shocked at how hydrating it felt on the skin (dry skin friends will love this).
The instant hydration was pretty visible:
But the one catch? It didn’t lock my makeup in quite as long as I’d hoped.
Then again, for $18? I can’t be mad. It’s giving just enough hold for everyday wear—so for the price, it's still a yes from me.
