The Under $35 Iconic Foundation That Suits Just About Everyone
I've been obsessed with beauty since I was little. At 5, I used to raid my mum's makeup drawers to sneakily apply red lipstick, only to have my dad make me take it off before I left the house. I've worked in the beauty industry for the last 15 years, and I have been at Adore Beauty for seven of them.

Many moons ago, in what feels like another lifetime, I worked as a freelance makeup artist.
When meeting new clients, one of my biggest challenges was ensuring that I had the right foundation shade for their complexion.
After searching far and wide, I always had my makeup kit stocked with L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation. Why?
A few reasons...
It had a very inclusive shade range, its formula was so versatile as you could build up the coverage and it suited all skin types. It always looked so lovely and natural on the skin.
And finally, the price was affordable!
That was a good fifteen years ago. And guess what? Today, the True Match foundation has only gotten better with age, and it still stacks up!
What Is the L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation?
The Loreal true match foundation offers 48 shades that span across cool, neutral and warm undertones.
The fact that there are 48 shades to choose from is huge and something that the brand should be really proud of.
Not only is the shade variety impressive, so is the formula. Infused with the powerful hydrating ingredient hyaluronic acid, the foundation is weightless on the skin ensuring ultimate comfort throughout the day.
The foundation looks so natural on the skin, and is typically a medium coverage.
I say typically because if you mix it with a little bit of serum (for example the L'Oréal Paris Revitalift Filler 1.5% Pure Hyaluronic Acid Anti-Wrinkle Serum) you can achieve a light, tinted-moisturiser vibe finish, or if you apply a couple of layers of the foundation, you can achieve a full coverage.

This foundation is still one of my go-to products after all this time.
It’s the perfect everyday foundation when you’re looking for something that will even out your skin tone, but is sheer enough to still look skin-like. I notoriously have quite dehydrated skin, so if I wear the wrong foundation, my skin can often feel tight.
This foundation feels weightless. You apply it and forget that you’re wearing foundation, which I absolutely love!
It wears so well on the skin, and by the end of the day, the foundation is still sitting pretty.
I love that I can apply this foundation on my mum's mature skin and still get the same natural finish. It’s incredibly versatile, and a cult favourite for a reason.

"I am a BIG fan of the L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum with its sheer, glowy, skin-like finish but was yet to actually try the OG True Match Foundation, so it had big shoes to fill.
And y’know what? I’m into it. It covers all my redness and gives me a nice even finish to apply the rest of my makeup on top (in the pic above I only added blush).
I applied it with a damp beauty sponge because I like a sheerer finish, so it didn’t completely cover up the pimples on my cheeks, but it did reduce the redness. I would describe the finish as natural-matte but I love that it has tiny little iridescent pigments in it so I don’t look too flat.
To be honest, the Serum version will always be my one true love, but if I need a little more coverage, I will be pulling out the True Match Foundation."
