I've Got Oily Skin & This Tubing Mascara Is A Game Changer
I'm Adore Beauty's resident beauty newbie. Before working at Adore, I was travelling the world for 4 months with just one tiny tube of Jurlique moisturiser. I washed my face with warm water and used olive oil as a deep conditioning treatment. Oh, how things have changed!

Have you ever been out at a bar on a balmy night, sweating up a storm on the dance floor, then walked into the bathroom, looked at your face and been like… WOAH, WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
Am I so sad and upset that I started crying without realising?
This used to happen to me regularly. Rather than looking like I’d had a fabulous time on the dance floor, it looked like I had been crying in the bathroom over an ex boyfriend (okay, guilty, this may have happened once or twice). Case in point…

I’ve tried a number of mascaras, even waterproof ones, and nothing seems to withstand the deep-fryer that is my skin type. You could literally deep fry chips on my face at 1:00am on a 30°C night and would save yourself a trip to McDonald's.
Well ladies, you’ll have to start waiting in line at Macca's because say hello to tubing mascara! At 31, all I can say is seriously, where the hell have you been all my life?
What Is Tubing Mascara?
Tubing mascaras use polymers to wrap around each lash in a water-resistant tube, unlike regular and waterproof mascaras that simply coat the lashes with dark pigments.
These tubes will stop your mascara from literally moving anywhere. It will last all day, all night, even on the oiliest eyelids.
Yes, I have woken up in the morning with a “friend” next to me, and yes I forgot to remove my makeup, and yes my lashes still looked fabulous. My face, well that’s another story.
Tubing mascaras are also completely safe for sensitive eyes and for those that wear contact lenses, like me.
Now To My Favourite Tubing Mascara...
Ever since I tried Estée Lauder’s Sumptuous Rebel Length + Lift Mascara, I’ve literally never looked back. And working in beauty I try out A LOT of mascaras. It’s EXTREMELY long-wearing is the definition of sweat-proof.. But not only that, it gives you lashes length and lift.

How To Use & Remove:
So we all know how to apply mascara, so I’m not going to bore you with the basics. But it is important to know that tubing mascara is only removable with warm water.
I usually jump in the shower to do it, but you can do it over the sink too. I’m going to be very honest here, in my experience,tubing mascara is not as easy to remove as regular mascara but the payoff is worth it.
The trick in my experience, is to wet your lashes and allow them to soak for a few seconds, and then using my oil cleanser to take off any remnants. With other tubing mascaras, you may need to gently rub your lashes between your fingertips, using the warm water to aid the removal of the 'tubes' that coat each lash. They should slide off relatively easily and don't require a hundred tries with a makeup remover like waterproof mascara can.
