In partnership with IT Cosmetics.
Spoiler alert: I’m obsessed with the IT Cosmetics CC Natural Matte foundation.
Well and truly obsessed.
So obsessed in fact, that I’ve worn nothing but this foundation since getting my hands on it.
Regardless of what I throw at this foundation, it’s not just survived, it’s thrived.
A chilly night watching the footy? Brunch with the girls? A long day at work?
Even if the team I barrack for did not.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let’s get into the nitty gritty about this foundation before I go full fangirl.
What Is IT Cosmetics Your Skin but Better CC+ Natural Matte?

In case you need a refresher, IT Cosmetics was founded by TV presenter Jamie Kern Lima in 2008 when she couldn’t find products that worked well with her sensitised skin.
The American brand aims to develop “skincare-based, problem-solving makeup”, partnering with plastic surgeons and dermatologists for their expertise and clinical insights.
Now onto the sparkly new product I’m so excited about.
This is a full-coverage foundation created for people after a full-glam look with controlled shine.
It differs from
the OG IT Cosmetics CC cream as it’s been specially designed for those of us who want a more matte base.
The formula has been built with Air Licium® (a synthetic ingredient that can absorb up to 15x its weight in oil) and hyaluronic acid to ensure the skin is hydrated while staying oil-free.
It contains SPF40 as well, which while foundation should not be your only source of sunscreen, is still great for that added layer of protection. Especially if you’re wearing this in warmer climates or humid environments.
Lastly, while this may be a niche thing to care about, this foundation also comes with a pump top and a squeeze bottle, so you can pump out the exact amount you need and squeeze the bottle to get every drop.
A big win in my books.
My IT Cosmetics CC+ Natural Matte Review.

Now for my road test and thoughts.
For reference, my chosen application method for this foundation was the
IT Cosmetics Flat Top Buffing Foundation Brush #6First up, the formula is definitely on the thicker side immediately after dispensing a smidge out of the tube.
As it’s a full-coverage foundation, this isn’t exactly a surprise, especially as this foundation claims to blur the look of large pores. However, this formula felt weightless on my skin when I buffed it across my face.
It applied smoothly on the skin and immediately covered my patches of hyperpigmentation left behind by acne. See ya dark spots.
I also found that less is more with this foundation - it truly did buff into the skin with little effort.
It didn’t split or separate from whatever I put on top of it - from bronzers to powders, to hydrating setting sprays (a contradiction sure, but good for testing purposes, right?).
As for wearing it throughout the day, one of the best things I noticed about this foundation is that it never dried to an awkward, flaky base.
It truly stayed natural all day - even through bouts of the infamous office air.
I would touch it up with a mattifying powder if I felt like I needed it (which I rarely did - aside from those pesky marks you get on your nose when you wear glasses), and this foundation just held strong.
With all of the above said, I feel like it’s worthwhile to also add that every time I wore this foundation for the first week I owned it, someone commented on my complexion every time I wore it.
From “Wow your skin looks so smooth!” to “Oh my god, what foundation are you wearing?”, everyone, from friends to co-workers, said something.
So if I haven’t got you hooked yet, let them get you over the line.
Final Verdict.
I love this foundation. Like, a lot.
It’s the perfect double whammy of coverage and long-lasting staying power without the drying, tightening effect that I absolutely hate.
I’m currently packing for a holiday to warmer pastures, and this is going straight into my travel kit.
