Huda Beauty the OG influencer herself, and arguably one of the biggest beauty brands to take the internet by storm has been keeping beauty lovers HOOKED with their launches for years.
From back in the gool ol’ days with their mink lashes that sold out worldwide, to their Rose Gold Eyeshadow palette that I know we all bought (and possibly still have) Huda Kattan has positioned herself as inclusive, edgy, and above all innovative.
And their latest launch, the Blush Filter Liquid Blush was so anticipated by their customers that these cream liquid blushes went viral on TikTok before they even launched.
So naturally, I HAD to get my hands on it and lucky for you and me I’ve got 3 out of the 5 shades to spill all the tea on.
But before we get into the swatches, let’s break down what makes this blush different from every other on the market.

What is the Huda Beauty Blush Filter?

Unlike her other two forays into the blush world, the Beauty Blush Filter is a liquid cream blush that claims to be ‘the most fool-proof blush you’ve ever used’, with buildable colour that leaves your skin healthy, radiant and as if the Paris filter has been applied directly onto it.
Its candy-scented formula has a peanut doe foot applicator. It comes in 5 versatile shades that retail for $37 each and can be worn alone or layered over foundation and powders (yes powders).
Sounds too good to be true, right?
Well… considering I’ve been a Huda stan from the beginning and her cheeky tint blush stick in 'Coral Cutie' is high on my summer blush rotation, I was beyond excited to slather these all over my cheeks.

Shade: Peach Sorbet.

Peach sorbet is warm tangerine shade. You know when you want a slight flush to the cheek?
This is what you use.
It’s perfect for the warm summer days that turn into unforgettable summer nights and leaves the complexion feeling fresh.
I’m quite surprised at how easy this was to blend, considering the pigmentation of the swatches.
I can see this shade being a hot favourite, as peach blush is highly versatile and works across a variety of skin tones.

Shade: Watermelon Pop.

Watermelon pop is a warm brick colour that in my opinion, is the underdog of the collection because it can be used as blonzer.
Which, simply put means the shade has enough warmth to the contouring effects of a bronzer while still adding a flush of colour, similar to a blush.
Do you see what I mean in the image above?
Personally, I see myself reaching for this on days I’ve slept in, feel lazy or just need to run errands and want to look put together in 5 minutes.

Shade: Black Cherry.

Black Cherry is the Leo of the lot. IYKYK and if you don’t, she’s dramatic, rich and makes a statement.
This burnt berry shade, is not for the weak hearted, and possibly the easiest one to get wrong – because you need to be wearing more of a ‘full face’ of makeup to make this shade work.
It’s an autumnal/winter shade and would be perfecccctttt with a berry-toned lip on medium to deeper skin tones.

Final Verdict...

Overall, I found these shades really interesting, I’d never seen a warm brick like this before nor a deep burnt berry, so it’s really made me get more creative with my looks!
As for the claims? I can promise it’s super easy to blend.
I probably wouldn’t scribble it on my face, like the marketing says, but rest assured it won’t turn into a blush blindness moment and sits on the skin beautifully.
It also had finely milled pearlescent pigments which is what gives the blush it’s slightly reflective, youthful glow.
Overall, it’s a 10/10 from me, and I need to take back the Strawberry Cream and Cotton Candy shades I gifted my mum, for research purposes, of course.
