Beginners Eyeshadow and Fake Eyelash Tutorial
How do you apply eyeshadow properly?
Creating the perfect eyeshadow look is all about using the right techniques and
tools.
As Megan shows us in this routine, the best way to apply eyeshadow is to start with
a good base, choose the right shades in the right order, and blend correctly.
This makeup look is super simple, but if you’re truly a beginner, or just
super low maintenance, you can always blend a
cream shadow all over the lid for
an easy and effortless look.
Megan’s go-to guide for bronzy, matte:
Follow this easy step by step eyeshadow look for a gorgeous and defined bronzed eye
Step 1: Create the perfect base
Step 1: Create the perfect base
Megan primes her eyes using the

To stop your base from creasing, set it with a powder like the
using a fluffy brush.
To create this eyelook Megan uses shades from
palette. First, she goes into the shades “Matt Lopez” and “Matt Evans” on a fluffy brush before applying it to the crease using windshield wiper motions.

Step 4: Define the crease with bronzer
Megan takes the bronzer she will be pairing with her look, the

Step 5: Lighten the lid area
Step 5: Lighten the lid area
Take the shade “
Matt Lin” on your finger tip and apply it to the base of your lid towards the inner corner with your finger. This creates a nice highlighting effect.
Step 6: Deepen the outer corner

Megan uses the
and a zig zag technique to help lift and coat every lash.
Carve out the perimeter of your shadow using a makeup wipe. You want to create a clean and soft line diagonal from the corner of the tip of your brow to the corner of your nose. This will help create a sense of symmetry. Start at the corner of your eyelash and wipe up, diagonally towards the tip of your brow.
We hope you enjoy the final look of this simple, bronzy eye look and benefit from Megan’s tips and tricks for beginners.
Megan’s Best Eyeshadow Tips:
Do your eyeshadow before your other face makeup to avoid fall out ruining your base.
Never start with your darkest shade in your crease, this makes it difficult to blend out.
Try using your bronzer in the crease to add cohesion to the overall look.
When blending out shadows, try using a light hand, only lightly pressing on the eye area for the best results.
When creating an eye look, Megan recommends completing each step on both eyes before moving onto the next one, so they stay at the same stage. This makes it easier to judge how much product to apply, so you end up with a more symmetrical look.
To remove any excess mascara, let it dry on your face first and then remove it with a clean spooly or a cotton bud.
