In Partnership With Rimmel London.
It’s hard to think of Rimmel London without that iconic tagline coming to mind.
“Get the London look,” my sister and I would recite in our best British accents, strutting down the catwalk (aka our hallway) during America’s Next Top Model ad breaks.
Rimmel and their long-time muse, Kate Moss, represented everything we (and I'm sure many other nineties babies) aspired to be—effortlessly chic, a little mysterious, and never without a signature smoky eye.
She was the ultimate “Cool Girl” and Rimmel was our ticket to British savoir-faire, no passport required.
So, I couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic when I heard of Rimmel London’s imminent arrival at Adore Beauty. Their Stay Matte Pressed Powder had a chokehold on me for the best part of my teens.
But, if I’m being honest, it's been a while since I've picked up a Rimmel product. That said, I’ve always had a soft spot for affordable beauty — some of my ‘cheapest’ products are my most beloved.
Naturally, I was curious. Would Rimmel still live up to the pedestal I put it on all those years ago? And with some new products catching my eye, I figured now was the perfect time to find out.
Adore Beauty staffers and I have been putting the Rimmel collection to the test across our skin types and tones.
Keep reading for our honest take on this classic beauty brand — is Rimmel still as iconic as we remember?

A Refresher on Rimmel London.

A brand as renowned as Rimmel London doesn’t really need an introduction, but on the off chance you haven’t yet tried their products or are just a beauty nerd like me, here’s a little trivia for you.
If you’d rather dig right into the products, keep scrolling for the team and my reviews.
Rimmel London was founded almost 200 years ago; way back in 1834 by Eugène Rimmel originally as a perfumery on London’s infamous Bond Street.
The French-born perfumer was considered a pioneer in the cosmetics industry, credited with creating one of the first non-toxic mascaras, which, fun fact: became so popular that the term “Rimmel” has come to mean mascara in several languages including French and Italian.
It doesn't get more OG than that.
Through clever collaborations with celebrities like Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora and considered product development, Rimmel has established itself as an authority in the affordable beauty space, particularly in the eye category.
Speaking of, Adore is home to quite the selection of Rimmel products for your peepers, as well as your brows, complexion and lips–which you can peruse at your pleasure here.
Ahead you’ll find our honest thoughts on a few, from a multi-hyphenate glow booster to an award-winning volumising mascara.

Our Rimmel London Reviews.

1. Rimmel London Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • Promises intense volume and fanned-out lashes.
  • Evenly coats each lash from root to tip, delivering a clump-free, flake-free, long-lasting finish.
  • Infused with nourishing argan, maracuja, marula, camellia and passionfruit oils to condition and care for your lashes.
My Rimmel Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara review:
Let's kick things off with a winner. Yup, this is that award-winning mascara I mentioned just a second ago.
Voted the best new mascara for 2020 in the annual Beauty Heaven beauty awards, Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara aims to intensify the volume of lashes without the dreaded clumping.
I'm fortunate to have a decent amount of lashes, but they need a little helping hand in the volume and length department to look their best, so this Rimmel mascara looked like an ideal fit.
As a contact lens wearer, I was happy to learn that the Wonder'Luxe Volume Mascara's formula is dermatologist and ophthalmologist-tested. No irritation? Check.
I was also enticed by its metallic pink packaging and nourishing formula. Both of which deliver–the design on vibes, and the formula on performance.
You can feel the wand conditioning your lashes as it coats them in pigment, building their intensity with every swipe.
For my lashes, I've found there's definitely a line of no return where my lashes can feel heavy or look clumpy, largely due to the design of the brush.
However, this mascara's flexible, curved brush allows you to customise your coat to the finish you want, whether it's volume or lengthening you're after. Or in my case, both.
It's quite a wet formula, as to be expected from its hydrating ingredients, so it's best to take your time when applying the mascara to avoid any... mishaps.
In saying that though, the Wonder'Luxe Mascara is easy to remove with an oil cleanser or makeup remover of your choice.
All in all, I can see why this mascara has captured the hearts (and eyes) of the masses. It's a solid option for a high-impact mascara under 25 dollars.

2. Rimmel London Lasting Finish 35Hr Foundation.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • Skincare-infused foundation containing SPF20.
  • Promises flawless, long-lasting coverage for up to 35 hours.
  • Vegan and cruelty-free formula; waterproof, crease and transfer-resistant.
  • Lightweight, breathable formula with a natural satin finish that resists heat, humidity and sweat.
  • Enriched with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and vitamin E to hydrate skin and keep it comfortable and radiant all day.
My Rimmel Lasting Finish 35Hr Foundation review:
I'm a big believer that you don't need to spend a small fortune on your foundation for a flawless finish.
In fact, many options exist out there that are just as, if not better, than some of those on the other end of the spectrum.
Don't get me wrong, I love my bougie foundations. But a gal always needs her tried-and-true staples on hand in case of emergencies. Or when you don't want to wear your expensive ones out for the occasion.
On paper, this foundation had all the hallmarks of a formula I'd look for: lightweight, hydrating, long-wearing, and transfer-resistant (at the very least for the sake of my white shirts).
I'm pleased to report that after road-testing it for the last couple of weeks, it's a solid contender.
It's a little more full coverage than I typically go for, but that said it's ideal for nights out or long days in office air-conditioning when you need your makeup to keep it together.
I found it applied best to hydrated, prepped skin using a damp beauty blender.
I also didn't need to use much, just one pump covered my entire face.
It has a nice natural finish that doesn't feel cakey or heavy, but definitely still 'there' if you get what I mean.
Finally, the burning question: did it last up to 35 hours??
While I can't vouch for the full 35 – maybe in my youth, but not nearing 30 that's for sure – it stayed put throughout the day and barely required powder touch-ups.
Suffice it to say, if you're looking for an affordable, long-wearing foundation infused with skincare ingredients, I'd recommend giving this one a go.

3. Rimmel London Maxi Blush Powder #006 - Exposed.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • Lightweight powder in a peachy pale pink.
  • Promises a soft, buildable colour that lasts all day.
  • Made from micro-fine powders that blend easily for a seamless finish.
My Rimmel Maxi Blush Powder #006 - Exposed review:
This blush couldn't have arrived at a better time, its pastel shade is so spring-coded.
A sort of pale pink with purple undertones, I was instantly attracted to this pretty powder.
It'd been a minute since I'd used a powder, I've been in my cream blush era of late.
But this Rimmel Maxi Blush was a nice reminder of how much I love powders too!
It applies nicely and is easily buildable for tailored intensity. It doesn't cake or feel heavy on the skin, and blends seamlessly.
The shade itself is quite subtle, so it looks pretty natural on my fair skin. I can imagine it looking even better when I'm bronzed (falsely, of course) or on darker skin and those naturally blessed with a tan.
You lucky things, you.

4. Rimmel London Lasting Finish Fix & Go Setting Spray.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • A dual-action setting spray works as both a primer and a setting spray.
  • Lightweight, fast-drying formula that promises to keep your makeup fresh and flawless all day.
  • Enriched with cucumber and camomile extracts to hydrate while its invisible shield protects your makeup without feeling dry or tight.
My Rimmel Lasting Finish Fix & Go Setting Spray review:
Every time I use a setting spray I think back to all those years I went without and shake my head wondering what I was thinking.
They're such a pivotal part of my makeup kit now, coming to the rescue of many a caked, overdone face.
Especially when they're packed with hydrating ingredients like this by Rimmel. Not to mention its two-in-one purpose. We love a multitasker.
I don't always use a primer, my SPF usually covers this for me. However, some occasions require a little extra support–like a sweaty rock 'n roll gig that I happened upon admist my Rimmel trial.
So, I put this setting spray to the test and am thrilled to report it passed with flying colours.
It delivers on the long-wear front. I also appreciate how fine its mist is, gently settling in the skin without disturbing makeup or drenching it in too much product.
It feels cooling and leaves a dewy sheen on the skin which pictures simply do not do justice.
I will say, it's not as hydrating as I'd like for my dry skin, but with that in mind, I think it would be ideal for oilier types after shine control.
The only other thing I didn't love about the Rimmel Lasting Finish Fix & Go Setting Spray is its fragrance.
It's subtle and fresh but smells a little clinical IMO, likely due to the presence of alcohol in its formula. But as we know, that's what makes a setting spray so good at keeping your makeup intact.
And it's not enough to put me off, just worth noting for the scent-adverse.

5. Rimmel London Wonder Volume Thrill Seeker Mascara.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • Volumising and lengthening mascara available in black and black-brown.
  • Creamy, lightweight formula that’s buildable and promises to be smudge-proof.
  • Features an hourglass-shaped brush to catch every lash for an even, clump-free finish.
  • Infused with conditioning ingredients like panthenol to keep lashes soft and cared for, while looking their best.
Our Senior Beauty Editor Sadaf’s Rimmel Wonder Volume Thrill Seeker Mascara review:
"Isn't it funny how one swipe of mascara can instantly awaken a tired-looking face? The image above being the perfect example.
The first thing I noticed about this mascara was its hourglass wand, I liked it immediately. As beauty lovers, we take note of everything - even design!
But how did it perform and how did it feel on my lashes?
I did feel super soft on my lash hairs which is something I like in a mascara and that's because my lashes are really straight so if a wand or product doesn't feel soft when applying, it can feel quite rough, but this one was really nice to work with.
While it didn't give me the volume I needed which is not an easy feat on my straight AF lashes (I think we can see by Jas's incredible lashes above, the Volume Mascara would be the best pick for that), it did deliver a natural fanned out curl that was perfect for daily wear.
I also opted for the brown shade to give me a softer look."

6. Rimmel London Multi-Tasker Better Than Filters.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • Multitasking glow booster that works as a primer, highlighter or foundation.
  • Promises a luminous, healthy glow that blurs imperfections and evens skin tone.
  • Lightweight, blendable formula formulated with vitamin C and biopeptides to care for the skin.
  • Can be worn alone, under or over makeup, or mixed in with your favourite foundation or skincare.
Our Social Media Specialist Ally's Rimmel Multi-Tasker review:
"Rimmel has officially entered the chat (well, the Adore chat).
First up is the Rimmel Multi-Tasker Better Than Filters—a 3-in-1 primer, highlighter, and glow booster that might remind you of a certain viral product but at more than half the price (IYKYK).
It delivers that coveted radiant finish, blurs imperfections, and gives you that “I got a full 12 hours of sleep” glow, all while pampering your skin with vitamin C and biopeptides."

7. Rimmel London Match Perfection Silky Loose Face Powder.

adore beauty article image
Fast facts:
  • An ultra-fine, silky powder that sets your makeup and keeps shine at bay.
  • Promises a soft-focus effect that blurs imperfections and evens out your skin tone.
  • Lightweight, breathable formula that blends seamlessly into the skin, with a natural matte finish that lasts all day.
Our Social Media Specialist Ally's Rimmel Match Perfection Powder review:
"This was my ride-or-die in high school.
Spoiler alert: She’s still just as amazing.
It sets makeup flawlessly, keeps shine at bay without a hint of cakiness, and blends like a dream, making it the perfect finishing touch for any look.
Basically, this and the Rimmel Multi-Tasker Better Than Filters together? Chef’s kiss." - Ally, Social Media Specialist.
