In partnership with NYX Cosmetics.
In the ever-evolving world of beauty, where new brands and products flood our feeds daily, few continue to command attention like NYX Cosmetics.
Renowned for its bold, inclusive aesthetic that celebrates diversity, this "drugstore" gem hasn't just stood the test of time—it shines even more brightly today than it did at launch over two decades ago.
With some 14 million Instagram followers, another 130 thousand on their Australian page, plus 700 thousand on TikTok, and nearly 600 million views under the #nyxcosmetics hashtag, NYX's influence is undeniable.
I might not remember everything, but NYX's debut in Australia in 2016 is etched in my memory.
It was one of those rare occasions I willingly queued up for a brand (and thanks to Adore, I won't have to do that again).
Australia, which often feels like an afterthought in the industry, was forever changed by NYX and their budget-friendly yet professional-level cosmetics that continue to redefine the game.
Their micro brow pencil has had me in a chokehold ever since.
So, when the chance came to officially announce the arrival of the L.A.-based brand at Adore to our beloved Beauty IQ readers, I seized it.
Armed with a box of their most buzz-worthy products and joined by a handful of my colleagues, we embarked on a mission to put NYX to the Adore test.
Below, we share our thoughts on the range alongside some *sickening* makeup looks if I do say so myself...

I have NYX to thank for reintroducing me to colour with the NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette - I Know That's Bright
It contains 16 highly-pigmented matte and shimmer shades that can be used individually or combined to create a myriad of bold looks perfect for the upcoming summer and festive season.
They’re also super easy to blend, infinitely widening the colour possibilities, so there’s something for everyone.
I was genuinely surprised by how much fun I had playing with these eyeshadows, stepping out of my typically neutral colour palette to try my hand at a couple of bold looks...

For the first look, I began with the red shade, using a precision brush to outline the winged shape. I find it easier to start this way as you have a bit of a stencil to work from if colouring inside the lines isn't your thing (guilty).
Then, I applied the pink hues on my lid, blending the darker shade into my crease for depth. The lighter pink shade in the centre of my lid added dimension, finished with a touch of shimmer.
While she's a little OOT for the everyday, this is a look I'd wear to a festival or those occasions that call for something a little bit *extra*.

For my second look, I wanted to create a more wearable look for weekends, date nights or when my usual no-makeup makeup schtick won't cut it.
I blended the blue shades from darkest to lightest across my lids, creating a seamless gradient.
Closer to the inner corners, I left my lids nearly bare, but you could add a subtle touch of sparkle or another complementary shade if you fancy.
I then followed with the NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil in my waterline to really make the colour pop.
To finish, I cleaned up any fallout with a precision concealer brush to ensure my shadow lines looked sharp and refined.
And of course, I can't overlook the two products that completed my makeup routine.
The NYX Professional Makeup The Brow Glue stood out for its exceptional staying power, ensuring my brows remained snatched all day.
Not only did it genuinely resemble marshmallow (!!), but it felt heavenly when applied and did an impressive job at keeping my makeup in place.
And for less than $30! Wallet win.

"NYX, an absolute makeup icon. Known for its fantastic formulas at even better prices.
NYX is hands down my go-to when I'm feeling a bit adventurous with my makeup. From white liner to a pop of colour in my shadow, they have everything under the sun.
Playing with these products brought me back to high school when I would stay in my room playing with makeup until my mum would barge in and tell me it was time to head to bed.
The NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow Palette - Vintage Jean Baby is so pigmented, easily bendable and has a vast array of shades, you could create so many looks with this palette that easily fits into a make-up bag.

This year I'd say I've really grown out of liquid liner; powders or a crayon vibe have been my go-to.
The NYX Professional Makeup Jumbo Eye Pencil is ever so creamy, it doesn't feel like I'm tugging at the skin on my eyelids when I'm popping it on. The colour pay-off is a big slay too.
Over the years I've heard so much about the NYX Professional Makeup Matte Setting Spray, but I've never used a matte setting spray in my life,
I don't truly understand how this technology works but my god, is it amazing - so handy for the upcoming summer months when I become a ball of oil by 12pm.
Overall, my fave products, but we all knew that."

The NYX makeup products I tried were:
"First let’s start with the concealer. If I’m being completely honest, I didn't expect much from a cheapie concealer.
I didn’t think anything in the budget price range could really mask my dark circles, but I was pleasantly surprised that the NYX concealer (in shade ‘Golden’) did a pretty decent job!
It did feel a little heavy to wear throughout the day, but if you don't mind that feeling and you want a cheap-ish full coverage concealer, give this one a whirl.
I found the Blur foundation a tiny bit drying for my face, but for everyday use when you’re just ducking to the shops and quickly need to put a face on, this is great. It’s also small, compact and travel-friendly so a good one to pack if you're planning a summer holiday and need something cheap that won't break if it gets thrown around.
If you have a teen (or you are a teen) who wants to start wearing foundation, I would start here.
The standouts for me though out were the plump primer (it really did give my skin an instantly plumping effect that made my makeup go on a little better too) and the NYX warm neutrals eyeshadow palette.
Those rich, earthy tones are a dream; all the perfect universal colours all living in one compact palette. So good!
