The Beauty Products Our Colleagues Influenced Us to Buy
Sadaf Razi is Adore Beauty's Senior Beauty Editor.
She's a former fashion editor (who worked at various glossy mags) and stylist-turned digital beauty and lifestyle writer. She has been in the lifestyle/media industry for over 10 years and her work has also been featured on international covers like Elle France and Vanity Fair Mexico.
Some of her fave Adore Beauty products include Cicaplast B5, CeraVe Cleansing Oil and Lancôme Renergie Triple Serum.
As beauty lovers, it’s expected that we often find inspiration and discover some of our most cherished and used beauty products through social media or our favourite beauty experts and tastemakers, but one underrated resource we forget about is our work colleagues.
How many times have we seen our work wife walk into the office and gasp at their amazing new lipstick or notice their skin is looking extra glowy and their hair is very much hair-ing?
That’s especially true, if your colleagues happen to work at one of Australia's leading beauty e-tailers (yep, that's us).
So I went and asked our team what beauty product or products they were influenced to buy thanks to their AB colleagues.
This is what they told me…

I have been influenced by so many things and by so many of my colleagues, but quick, rapid-fire, top of my head:
1. MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Skin Foundation.
I discovered one of my favourite medium-to-full coverage foundations (shade match and texture is also really good) via our CX (Customer Experience) team leader Jada. I ran into her in the kitchen when I first started at Adore Beauty and her skin and makeup looked amazing. I could see her foundation (in a good way, not a super obvious cakey way) and had to know what it was because it's so hard to find a good foundation for olive skin tones.
And now I'm even more in love with the new MAKE UP FOR EVER HD SKIN Hydraglow Foundation that's a more weightless and glowier version!
2. Aspect Phytostat 9.
Aspect Phytostat 9 is an Adore Beauty office Hall of Fame product, but I never really paid it much mind (my skin only gets dry in winter) but after Jas reviewed it and since raves about it counting it as a fave for her dry skin, it finally made me want to try it.
Especially for whenever I'm in Melbourne as I notice my cheeks get unusually dry.
3. K-Beauty.
I talk incessantly to anyone who will listen that Adore Beauty is home to some of the best K-Beauty brands, but forget to use them myself. Well after being blinded by our Copywriter Flick's glassy skin in this BIQ article, it immediately influenced to add more K-Beauty to my next staff order.

1. VIRTUE Healing Oil.
"Never have I ever added a product to cart faster than the time I read our Senior Beauty Editor Sadaf's review of the VIRTUE Healing Oil.
If you haven't, stop what you're doing and go and look at her silky-soft tresses immediately.
The love she has for this lightweight leave-in is no secret to Adore Beauty staffers; I'm sure I'm not the only one whose been persuaded by her passion for this frizz-fighting oil.
While it's an excellent hydrator all year 'round, my dry, coloured hair has been particularly appreciating its nourishing capabilities heading into winter."
2. evo Colour Boosting Treatment.
"As some of you know, I recently dyed my hair 'Cherry Cola'.
But what you might not know is that it took me weeks to finally pull the trigger, unsure if a) it would suit me and if so, b) I could handle the upkeep.
Then my gorg colleagues Maddy and Chlo entered the chat, suggesting the evo Colour Treatment as a viable solution in between salon visits.
No stranger to a vibrant hue, Chlo used the treatment for years before recommending it to Maddy for her freshly-coloured copper locks, who then influenced me to try it.
Suffice to say, my hair and I haven't looked back!
3. elf Halo Glow.
"There are many things our resident makeup artist and Content Manager Megan have influenced me to buy (if it'll make me look half as stunning as Megs, you best believe I'm adding it to cart), but one of the best is elf Halo Glow.
Truthfully I'd watched it do the rounds on social media, but seeing it on her skin in person really sealed the deal for me.
Its hydrating formula and glowy finish are next to none, rivalling some higher-end option.
The best part though? It's only $35. Winning!"

"The KEVIN.MURPHY Doo Over is a flexible hairspray that our CX (Customer Experience) team leader Marie used to rave about ALL the time.
After trying it out, I can sure see why.
It's like the Goldilocks of hairspray, the perfect mix of flexible, to the point where you can run your fingers through your hair, while still locking in your do all day long.
The scent smells delish and isn't insufferable, the cherry on top."
