A New, Blurring Concealer That Supposedly Does It All? Say Less

I’m one of the laziest busy gals you’ll ever meet. I’m always doing something, and always complaining about how much effort everything takes (my group chat are angels for listening to me). 

To make things quicker and easier, I have my makeup routine down pat. I know exactly what to put where, how many strokes required, and off I go to live my beautiful life. 

There are some products in my routine that have my undying loyalty (I love you Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré!). And then there are products I’m open to exploring. Concealer is one of these. 

Unpopular opinion: you can always have a better concealer. There could always be one smoother, a better colour match, a nicer applicator. And since concealer is one of those products that’s supposed to make life effortless, helping you perfect the no makeup look, it’s very important to me.

Enter: the new IT Cosmetics Do It All Radiant Concealer, which promises the ‘your skin but better’ effect IT Cosmetics are so beloved for.

I jumped on the chance to give the new concealer a whirl. Lucky for us, I had a big weekend planned, ample opportunity to trial how it wears throughout the day, on its own, and with other products on a night out. 

Spoiler: she’s perfect. Her

I ended up taking the shade ‘Fairest Cool’, which I felt was a good colour match, especially under my usual foundation. 

On the days I wasn’t wearing foundation, I found I needed to give the concealer some time to settle into my skin before I felt totally happy with the skin-like finish. This is a nitpick if I’ve ever seen one! 

It is a great concealer for my undereye area, and only creased a little bit but we could put that down to me rushing my base (again: lazy busy girl, I win some I lose some, I’m okay with this). 

However, it was a fantastic concealer for my spots and the redness around my nose. The coverage lasted all day with no need to reapply, even after an accidental emergency nap. 

The applicator is also worth mentioning. Usually, I’m not a fan of sponge-like applicators, however I loved the control this particular applicator gave me. One click is perfect for concealing a spot, a few clicks is what you need for the rest of your face. The buildable nature of the product made it easy to figure out exactly how much I needed where.

I still ended up using my finger because I don’t like sponges – and I won’t be taking comments on the hygiene of this approach at this time, thank you. 

Back to the most important question about a concealer: did it make my life easier this weekend? Yes! 

The colour was a perfect match with the rest of my products, usually I have to do a bit of mixing of colours – none of that here! 

And on my morning market run, with almost no other makeup, it was the perfect sheer coverage to make me look natural but hide the fact that I went to sleep at 2am! ‘Radiant concealer’ indeed!

"I’m super picky with concealers - it’s gotta be creamy, buildable, and actually last. This one? IT Cosmetics nailed it. It melts into my skin, blends seamlessly with the rest of my makeup, brightens me right up, and gives that soft, velvety, flawless finish I’ve been trying to master.

My main concerns with makeup are brightening up my face and concealing the redness that comes from being in front of the heater 24/7. I need my concealer to offer enough coverage to add dimension without caking or clinging to dry patches, the skin-loving ingredients in this formula make sure it doesn’t.

When I apply, I’m the type of gal who still draws triangles under the eyes - remember those 2016 cream contouring techniques? Yeah, that never left me. "Okay, so please excuse this ridiculously-close close-up but I wanted to show you just how impressive the before and after is. Notable difference - right?!

My skin veers on the drier side, so I'm typically gravitating towards light coverage formulas that brighten without actually 'concealing' (or settling in) too much. I have a little bit of darkness (easily exasperated post night-out) but my main concern is texture aka sunken in, tear trough hollows.

This formula was a little thicker than I'm used to however it still boasted that dewy, hydrating reflect (thanks to skin-loving ingredients like Peptides and Vit E) that I love. I also found that thickness didn't accentuate any texture and actually blurred over those tear trough lines with ease. You can see the smooth, plumped out finish.

I ordered the wrong shade (too dark) but borrowed Chloe's 125 Fair Cool and loved how it turned out. It refreshed my whole complexion and added some much-needed brightening to the under eyes." - Francesca Hartley
