In partnership with Moroccanoil.
Argan oil is one of those ingredients that gets a lot of hype. And for good reason.
Considered the “liquid gold” of hair care, it’s one to have on your radar if you care about silky smooth, touchably soft and oh-so-shiny tresses. Which I’m assuming you do, since you landed here.
Derived from the kernels of the argan tree native to Morocco, argan oil was once a well-kept secret but has swiftly become a mainstay in many beauty products, coveted by editors, lovers and celebrities worldwide.
Its rise to fame in Beauty can be largely credited to Moroccanoil.
After experiencing first-hand the transformative power of argan oil on her damaged hair while travelling in Israel, Moroccanoil co-founder Carmen Tal set out to share it with the masses.
Today, Moroccanoil’s treatments are revered as some of the best in the biz for reviving dull and damaged hair, enriching it with nourishing ingredients that strengthen from the inside out.
Since its launch in 2008, the Moroccanoil Treatment line has expanded and evolved to cater to different hair types, from the thick and coarse to the fine and flat.
Recently, Moroccanoil released a brand-new rendition of their famed oil treatment, so now those with blonde, grey and highlighted hair can experience its argan-infused goodness too.
Being big Moroccanoil fans already at Adore Beauty, the team were very excited to get their hands on the shiny new treatment and try it themselves on their golden tresses.
Not one to miss out, I took the opportunity to try the light edition of the original Moroccanoil Treatment. I asked my colleagues if they could share their thoughts on the new purple treatment with me too.
Below, you’ll find our honest thoughts plus everything you need to know about this treatment trifecta.

1. Moroccanoil Purple Treatment Oil.

A hair oil specifically formulated to neutralise brassiness? Sign me up.
This brand new Purple Treatment Oil from Moroccanoil is packed with linseed extract, argan oil and violet pigments to boost shine and brighten those brassy tones.
Imagine the classic formula we all adore, now with a violet twist - but don’t worry, it won’t stain your hair, I promise!
I’ve been treating my thick locks to this gem for a few weeks now, and despite having an arsenal of hair oils, I keep reaching for this one.
For my hair, just one pump, 2-3 times a week, is all it takes to leave it looking soft, shiny, and noticeably brighter.
Wet hair, dry hair, or even hair that's been neglected for a little bit too long, this multitasking hero has had my back every time.
I can’t wait to see how it continues to work its magic as I make this a staple in my hair care routine.
Quick tip: If your hair is on the thinner side, start with a small amount and see what works best for you - it’s got a bit of weight, but it absorbs quickly!” - Ally, Social Media Specialist.
Elle’s Moroccanoil Original Oil Treatment review:

The Moroccanoil Original Oil Treatment is literally my OG hair product. This is the first ever hair product I ever remember loving. I used it religiously to combat frizz and add shine.
To this day, this product still stacks up to its competitors!
Now that I have coloured hair, I was super excited to see the new addition of the Purple Oil Treatment, as I am struggling with my hair going brassy.
It's exciting to see this type of purple product in a styling formula, as opposed to the traditional purple shampoos.
After a couple of weeks of use, I certainly feel that this is helping my hair to look fresh again.
I even had someone comment that they thought I had my hair redone since using it.” - Elle, Assistant Trade Marketing Manager.

2. Moroccanoil Original Oil Light Treatment.

Fast facts:
  • Strengthens hair from root to tip.
  • Restores shine and softness to dull, lifeless hair.
  • Promotes healing from hair damage and improves elasticity.
  • Protects hair against UV damage and other environmental factors.
  • Super-light formula specifically created for fine or light-coloured hair.
My Moroccanoil Original Oil Light Treatment review:
Anyone with thin tresses knows the struggle to find the perfect hair oil is real.
There’s a fine line (‘scuse the pun) between it looking healthy/nourished, and heavy/sewer rat.
While I’d definitely classify myself as a ‘rat girl’ (loves late-night snacks and bed-rotting), I’d rather my hair not look à la rodent.
You too? Good news: I think this treatment could be the solution!
Having found the original MOROCCANOIL treatment too rich for my tresses, I was pleased to find the light edition feels exactly that.
It’s not too heavy to use on dry hair and makes my brittle ends feel fresh again.
One pump is all I needed for instant softness and shine, imparting a beautiful, ‘just washed’ scent in my strands.
I’ve also been working it through wet hair on wash days, and find it helpful in detangling and smoothing my mane, giving it a noticeable shine after it's been blow-dried.
Suffice it to say I'll be moving this one from in-review to regular programming from here on out.

3. Moroccanoil Original Oil Treatment.

Fast facts:
  • Restores shine and softness to dull, lifeless hair.
  • Reduces drying time and speeds up styling time.
  • Helps restore shine, strengthen the hair and condition it.
  • Shields from UV damage and other environmental factors.
  • Promoted healing of hair damage from colouring and styling.
  • Swiftly absorbs into the hair for instant shine and nourishment.
Moroccanoil Original Oil Treatment customer reviews:
I've used this product for years and it's one I always keep buying. Typically I'll apply generously to damp lengths and ends, and occasionally a touch to smooth out flyaways and frizz. I have thick, long, and straight hair, I don't find this too heavy or greasy.” - Vanessa.
"Love this hair oil, I have very thick porous hair that immediately sucks up any other hair oil I've used and the oil just wasn't doing its job. I then tried this hair oil and my hair sucks it up but unlike the others, it leaves my hair with a shine and silky smooth texture afterwards and my frizz is nonexistent!! Highly recommend for thick frizzy hair!!" - Bella.
Bought this product to try out a new oil for my hair, smells amazing and makes my hair feel so soft! Would highly recommend.” - Bella.
