In Partnership With L’Oréal Professionnel
I’ve been dying my hair burgundy — or “
Cowboy Copper”, as the kids say — for over a year now. What started as a spontaneous decision one random Thursday has since evolved into a whole-blown identity.
Safe to say, it’s no longer just a phase. As anyone who colours their hair will tell you, nothing beats that fresh-salon feeling — the
richness, the
bouncy volume, the multi-dimensional depth that somehow makes you feel like you’ve got your whole life together.
If only that vibrancy lasted longer than a few washes. Sadly,
maintaining coloured hair at home isn’t always easy.
And as much as I love sinking into a plush salon chair for three hours of pampering, my bank account prefers when I can stretch out appointments as long as possible.
Enter: L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Colour Spectrum: the latest addition to the salon-grade lineup that promises to “lock in Day 1 colour vibrancy for up to 100 days.”
Naturally, my interest was piqued.
Like the selfless beauty writer I am, I volunteered to road test the full regime — shampoo, conditioner, mask and serum — for a few weeks to see if Miss Vitamino (yes, we’re on nickname basis now) could live up to the promise.
Here’s everything you need to know.
What Is L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Colour Spectrum?
Think of this range as skincare for your hair colour.
Vitamino Colour Spectrum is designed to protect and enhance the five dimensions of colour: shine, saturation, contrast, tone and brightness.
Together, these elements contribute to that healthy, vibrant, just-left-the-salon look we all crave.

At the heart of the formula is ferulic acid: a powerful antioxidant you might recognise from cult skincare products like SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic. It works to defend against UV exposure, pollution, and heat styling — the common culprits behind colour fade.
It also contains L’Oréal’s anti-fade technology, which helps seal dye molecules into the hair fibre so your colour doesn’t wash down the drain prematurely (tragic).

My L’Oréal Professionnel Vitamino Colour Spectrum Review

Let’s start with the scent because first impressions matter, and this range takes the cake.
If you’re used to traditional salon haircare that smells a bit… sharp, you’re in for a treat. This range smells elevated. Warm, earthy and subtly luxe without being overpowering. The fragrance lingers softly, adding to the overall sensorial experience.
The shampoo lathers up beautifully (not always a given with colour-care shampoos) and leaves your scalp feeling clean without that dry, squeaky finish. My hair felt softer even before applying conditioner, which honestly surprised me. It’s gentle enough for regular use but still gives you that satisfying fresh-hair feeling.
As for the conditioner, it’s smooth, silky and not too heavy. This is a great everyday conditioner that makes detangling easy and adds light hydration. If your hair runs oily or fine, it’s a perfect option to alternate with the richer mask.
Speaking of — wow. The mask is the star of the show.
It’s thick, creamy and feels expensive. A little goes a long way, and I like to leave it on for 5–10 minutes to really let it work its magic. I’ve even used it to slick my hair into a sleek bun on non-wash days — it hydrates, smooths and makes my hair feel like silk. After rinsing, my strands are super soft, glossy and swishy (the official hair term, obviously).
Now, onto the serum.
This one’s interesting. It’s more of a dry oil texture than your typical serum. It absorbs fast and doesn’t leave hair feeling greasy or heavy, which is a must for finer hair types.
It smooths frizz, adds shine, and layers nicely with other products. I use about half a pump through my mid-lengths and ends; it’s great for refreshing second or third-day styles.
The Final Verdict
After several weeks of using the full L’Oréal professional Vitamino Colour Spectrum system, the results spoke for themselves. I received a lot of unsolicited compliments.
My hair looked richer, shinier, and more multidimensional, like my colour had been freshly done, even though I hadn’t been near a salon in weeks. More than anything, my hair felt better.
Soft, hydrated, healthy. The range didn’t weigh my hair down or leave it flat, and my colour held its depth and tone far longer than it usually does between appointments. Blow dries had that silky, high-gloss finish, and even my natural texture looked smoother and shinier.
And while I know packaging isn’t everything… I have to say, the burgundy tones and sleek bottles look cute as heck in my shower. Small joy, but a joy nonetheless.
