I Tried Kérastase's Blonde Range & This Is What Happened

I'm Adore Beauty's resident beauty newbie. Before working at Adore, I was travelling the world for 4 months with just one tiny tube of Jurlique moisturiser. I washed my face with warm water and used olive oil as a deep conditioning treatment. Oh, how things have changed!
As a relatively new blonde, it didn’t take me long to realise that it can be a real pain in the ass. I recently went overseas for two weeks, without any toning products, and came back feeling dull and lifeless (and that wasn’t just the post-travel depression).
I immediately booked an appointment to dye my hair back to my natural brunette hue. This blonde was definitely not having more fun.
Before going back to brunette, I was lucky enough to attend the launch of Kérastase’s new Blond Absolu range in Sydney. Before the event, I was going to trial the products in-salon for a lil' refresh in preparation to interview Blond Absolu’s ambassador, international supermodel and actress, Andreja Pejic.
Due to Sydney fog, my flight was delayed by three hours so I had to attend the event with my dull, brassy, flat blonde hair *sobbing*.
When I returned to Melbourne, I booked in to try the range at Xiang Hair, with only a few days remaining before my appointment to go back brunette. The stylist did a double shampoo (first with Bain Lumiere, then Bain Ultra-Violet) then I sat back and relaxed in the Masque Ultra-VioletFinally, she used Cicaplasme to protect my hair from heat styling.
Before I tell you more about the range, these were just a few reactions from friends, families and colleagues post-treatment:
“Why did you dye your hair blonder if you’re going back brunette?” – my mum
“I’m loving this colour. I think you should cancel your appointment” – our Beauty Editor, Joanna
“🔥” – a guy who slid into my DMs on Instagram

Tell Me More:

Blond Absolu is for any blonde, bronde or balayage (okay, well, not ANYONE; the price point is pretty bougie but, hey, you get what you pay for), so you can tailor the range to your brand of blonde.
There are three key ingredients in the range:
Hyaluronic acid: The hydration hero we see in skincare can also be used to restore the health of your hair.
Edelweiss flower: This ingredient is famous for its ability to resist climate and environmental damage.
Ultra-violet neutralisers: Duh. Blond Absolu delivers the highest concentrations with a mix of blue and purple pigment and I was very impressed with the immediate results.

The Results:

With only one treatment, my hair went from zero to 100, ie. “I hate being blonde” to “maybe I want to stay blonde”. The dull yellowness that had plagued me for the last few weeks was instantly revived into a glossy, creamy blonde – like I’d had a fresh colour without 8 hours in a salon chair.
So, maybe being blonde is more fun when you've got the right products at your fingertips?
