What is frizz, and how can I keep my hair from frizzing in humidity?
Frizz is that messy tangle that stands apart from the rest of your hair. Technically, what we are seeing here is a raised cuticle layer, that is causing the hair to look dry and frizzy instead of smooth.
Frizz can be caused by a number of things: damage, dehydration, genetics and hair type. Generally, those with curly hair experience frizz more, but that doesn’t mean frizz can’t be cured with the right hydrating hair products.
So, why does humidity create and exacerbate frizz? Essentially, what is happening is that your porous hair has less moisture in it than there is in the air, and this causes the moisture in the air to mess with the hydrogen bonds in your hair.
