In partnership with Davines.

I have been so keen to try sustainable haircare brand
Davines since they launched at Adore Beauty, so how lucky was I to have our Senior Beauty Editor Sadaf place the new Davines Oi Souffle on my desk!
It's described as a liquid-to-foam mousse that adds body and shine to fine hair, without weighing it down.
Well, as a fine-haired girly, I have been putting this body-giving haircare product to the test over the last two weeks, so keep scrolling for my honest thoughts.
But first, a little refresher on the brand.
What is Davines?

First I need to tell you a bit about Davines (pronounced dav-a-ness) because I am so keen on everything this brand does.
They're an Italian haircare brand that sources some of its ingredients from small family farms in Italy.
They also utilise renewable energy and have carbon neutral packaging on their Essential Haircare, SU, Oi, and More Inside ranges.
I am obsessed with their commitment to sustainability (which if you want more info on sustainable beauty brands, I
wrote an article on this) but they also make darn good hair products.
The
Oi range in particular adds shine, tames frizz, and is imbued with Roucou oil, a lightweight yet nourishing ingredient.
Check it out if you want to add a bit of life and luxury into your hair routine.
What Is the Davines Oi Souffle?

This interesting little product is a "silkening bodifying foam", or in other words: a leave-in mousse that aims to leave your hair voluminous and shiny.
Here's some other fast facts:
Ideal for medium to fine hair.
Provides heat protection up to 230°C.
Enriched with the iconic Roucou oil and chicory root extract.
Liquid-to-foam formula.
How to use Davines Oi Souffle? Apply 3-4 pumps to damp hair.
My Davines Oi Soufflé Review.

I've never actually used a mousse before, so as you can imagine, I was expecting a product similar to the products my mum used in the 1980s, but this was not accurate at all.
I was expecting crunch, crazy volume, and a lot of hold—but instead it was soft and subtle.
I actually applied it right to the roots the first time because I was expecting a Madonna-esque transformation, but turns out it's only supposed to be applied lengths to ends. Whoops!
Once I realised it wasn't going to give me the insane root volume I expected, I focused my attention on the rest of my hair - which I was grateful was getting heat protection.
Its claim of "not weighing hair down" was very accurate.
I have very fine, oily hair, and a lot of products make my hair feel greasy and flat, but this one was very light! It gave my hair a little bit of body and movement but in a very natural way (some might say demure and mindful).
It helped with shine, and my friend also said my hair looked "floaty" so that's a win.
Final Verdict...
Davines Oi Souffle has an amazing scent that lingered in my hair all throughout the day - it's very gender neutral, kind of amber-y and fresh but very hard to describe! Just know that it smells good.
So if you have flat hair and want protected, floaty hair, add this Davines styling and body hair product a go!
