Founded in France by Hubert de Givenchy in 1952, GIVENCHY was most known and famous for dressing and crafting designs for iconic movie star Audrey Hepburn including the exquisite white floral gown she wore to the 1954 Oscars.
GIVENCHY's first fragrance followed suit, and was dedicated to the old Hollywood actress.
More than just a scent, it was a symbol of the deep friendship between the legendary designer and his muse.

Givenchy l'interdit was the iconic scent of all scents crafted as tribute to the late Audrey Hepburn.
Apparently, when Givenchy asked Audrey Hepburn if he could then release the fragrance to the masses she replied with, “Je vous l’interdis!”— “I forbid you!”
If that’s not a sign that this would be the perfect signature scent I don't know what is.
Luckily for us, Givenchy didn't gatekeep and debuted the fragrance in 1957, then decades later, enlisted master perfumers Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, and Fanny Bal to reimagine the scent for a new generation.
While the bottle pays homage to the original, the fragrance itself has been given a modern twist.
A luminous white floral bouquet of orange blossom, jasmine, and tuberose is grounded by the depth of earthy vetiver and patchouli—an intoxicating contrast that feels both timeless and daring.
