If 2024 was the year of fruity fragrances (and experts say it was), what’s up next?
Trend forecasters are pointing specifically to stone fruit scents as the next big thing.
One scroll through #PerfumeTok will tell you we’re already in the midst of a cherry craze. But experts predict that notes like mango, plum, peach and apricot are also on the uptick.
If, like me, you grew up on the tooth-achingly sweet body mists and saccharine celebrity fragrances of the early aughts, you might be tempted to turn up your nose.
But wait!
The latest fruity launches are surprisingly sophisticated. Seductive even.
They’re elevated, with depth, warmth and just a splash of playfulness.
(Impulse could never.)
Keen to get involved? These five stone fruit fragrances have my full attention right now.
1. who is elijah CHERRY FIESTA.

Notes:
Head: Mandarin, pear, anise.
Heart: Cherry, white florals.
Base: Vanilla, benzoin, green patchouli.
If you could bottle pure, unadulterated joy, I think it might smell just like this?
The opening is bright, thanks to juicy mandarin and pear, with anise adding a subtle, unexpected twist.
The cherry note is lush and playful, but a delicate white floral accord keeps things fresh, airy and wearable.
As it settles, the warmth of vanilla and benzoin meets the earthiness of green patchouli, leaving a soft impression on the skin.
It’s sweet but not cloying – so sniffable! It’s perfect for carefree summer days.
2. Jo Loves Mango Thai Lime A Fragrance.

Notes:
Head: Golden mango, lime, black pepper, mint leaves.
Heart: Mint, freesia.
Base: Vetiver, thyme.
The opening is vibrant and mouth-wateringly fresh – all syrupy mango and zesty lime.
A hint of black pepper adds spice, while cooling mint keeps it crisp and refreshing.
Freesia and vetiver ground the bright tropical notes with softness and sophistication.
This one’s made for sunshine-filled days, and while it doesn’t last all day (I’d estimate about 2 - 3 hours per spritz), it's so refreshing that reapplying feels like part of the fun.
Like all Jo’s fragrances, it’s unisex and ideal for layering or wearing solo.
3. CHLOÉ NOMADE ABSOLU DE PARFUM.

Notes:
Head: Mirabelle plum.
Heart: Davana.
Base: Oakmoss, sandalwood, plum.
A warm, intense fragrance that balances sweet (fruity) and savoury notes to perfection.
Mirabelle plum (which is a “fantasy note,” by the way, an accord constructed by the perfumer to approximate the smell of the real thing) brings richness and sweetness.
A double dose of plum (there’s more on the base) makes sure the scent stays put.
The Indian herb davana lends a slightly bitter edge, softened by creamy sandalwood and musk – overall, it reads as elegant, earthy and inviting.
Ideal for crisp mornings or breezy afternoons; it’s too heady for hot, sweaty days.
4. Glasshouse Fragrances Sunsets in Capri.

Notes:
Head: Cassis bud, mandarin, green, peach.
Heart: Jasmine, lily, peach.
Base: Amber, musk, marine notes.
The opening is pure summer in a bottle – juicy white peach and mandarin hit first, bright and refreshing, with a subtle green edge from the cassis bud that keeps it balanced.
On my skin, the floral notes come through gently. The jasmine and lily stay soft and airy, adding gentle depth without overpowering the fruity top notes.
The marine notes give it a clean, breezy quality that I appreciate.
In the heat, it transforms. Truly a warm-weather scent! On sultry days, the fruity and green notes seem to bloom, and the scent projects even more beautifully.
An effortless, easy-to-wear scent that’s perfect for lazy, sun-soaked days.
5. Lumira Neon Moon Parfum.

Notes:
Head: Apricot, pink pepper, violet leaves.
Heart: Jasmine, honeysuckle, rosewood, black tea.
Base: Sandalwood, cedarwood, white amber.
Inspired by the neon glow of Tokyo at night, it shifts from fruity to floral to woody.
The opening is a striking blend of apricot, pink pepper and violet leaves – it’s soft and sweet, while the spice and green notes add a little intrigue right from the start.
As it settles, there’s rich black tea and intoxicating florals that are lush, almost velvety.
The sandalwood, cedarwood, and white amber on the base give it serious sensuality.
It’s gentle enough for daytime wear but sensual enough to carry you into the evening.
