5 Signature Scents to Gift Them (Or Yourself)

Often the thing that makes you feel the most glamorous is something others don’t see.
It could be wearing a matching set (IYKYK); the text sitting in your phone that made you smile; or the moment of picking up a beautiful perfume bottle, feeling its weight in your hands, and that first spritz. Breathe in … bliss.
It’s embracing the moments that are just for you that make you walk a little taller, make life feel a little extra special.

Let me introduce you to five delicious scents from luxury fragrance houses I’ve been loving and how I would wear them.
1. Burberry Goddess Eau de Parfum.
Notes:
- Head: Vanilla Infusion and lavender.
- Heart: Vanilla caviar.
- Base: Vanilla absolute, enriched with cocoa and ginger roots for an aromatic balance.
I know it says goddess but the gold bottle instantly makes me think of Cleopatra.
Either way, whether a queen like Cleopatra or a goddess like Athena is your vibe, this fragrance is sure to get you feeling powerful.
To me, Burberry Goddess is a date-night-after-the-office kind of perfume.
It’s an escape from the cold into a velvety cocktail bar, where the lights are low and warm, and the music is smooth.
It’s mature, it’s sweet and gourmand and feels as rich and golden as the bottle looks.
2. Burberry Her Elixir Eau de Parfum.
Notes:
- Head: Strawberry and blackberry.
- Heart: Jasmine.
- Base: Vanilla, amber and sandalwood.
Now, this one’s a sweetie.
It’s energetic, fruity and fresh. I know “bursting” is a bit of a cliche nowadays but my first encounter with this Burberry Her Elixir felt like it had jumped out at me.
This one is a Sunday market scent. Pop your trench coat on with your fave straw bag under your arm, and spend the morning with someone special, pursuing stalls and falling in love.
Make sure you come home with fresh fruits, cheeses and a bouquet of flowers.
3. CHLOÉ Eau de Parfum.
What: Chloe Eau de Parfum 75ml
Notes:
- Head: Peony, lychee and freesia.
- Heart: Rose. lily-of-the-valley and magnolia.
- Base: Amber and cedar.
CHLOÉ feels like the quintessential gift for a young person. For an 18th, for a graduation, for celebrating a first job.
Not because it’s immature, not at all, quite the opposite.
This scent sits so nicely in between youthful fruit and mature gourmand. It’s a luminous scent, reminiscent of the first steps you take when becoming yourself.
4. MARC JACOBS Perfect Eau de Parfum.
Notes:
- Head: Rhubarb and daffodil.
- Heart: Almond milk.
- Base: Cashmeran.
I love the instant greenery that comes across with that first spritz.
This one is a little burst of sour that settles elegantly with cashmere enveloping the skin.
To be matched with colourful makeup, bright outfits, and a smile that shows off all your pearly whites.
I find the bottle of the perfume an excellent depiction of the scent inside.
While the bottle, and the base notes, are classically graceful, that flush of life at the top is so youthful and fun.
The mix-matched charms on the top, a pop-art sensation in itself, are a true representation of the zestiness of the scent.
5. HUGO BOSS THE SCENT FOR HER Eau de Parfum.
Notes:
- Head: Peach and freesia.
- Heart: Osmanthus.
- Base: Cacao.
This fragrance manages to house a sense of incredible modernity.
A velvety sophistication, elegant and invigorating at the same time. A fresh, long-lasting scent that is easily ready to become your everyday go-to.
