Some things are quintessentially British: excessive politeness, jam scones with clotted cream, corgis, saying "Y'rite", and–in the world of luxury–Burberry.
Since 1856, the plaid-clad fashion house has served as an emblem of British heritage and style, gracing runways, wardrobes and vanities around the globe.
Now, it’s the latest to be welcomed into the Adore Beauty fragrance fold.
Much like its iconic trench coat and cashmere scarves, Burberry's line of luxury perfumes exude enduring style, elegance, and charm, each a testament to different facets of British culture.
From the serenity of a rainy day in the countryside to the vibrant energy of London's bustling streets, there’s a story waiting to be told with every spritz.
Needless to say, I was very excited to get my hands on the Burberry collection ahead of its launch.
Even more so when our gorgeous fragrance category manager Liz told me I could keep one for myself (!!).
To help me decide which scent to make my own, I roped my partner into a blind sniff test, curious if his take would differ from mine.
He stuck around for the first three before his answers turned from insightful to “it’s nice”.
So, without further ado, let’s get acquainted with some of Burberry’s signature scents, accompanied by some occasionally helpful commentary.

Burberry Goddess EDP.

Calling my gourmand girlies–if you’re a vanilla fragrance lover but longing for something slightly edgier, chances are you’ll love Burberry Goddess.
The newest addition to the luxury fragrance line, Burberry Goddess is inspired by the power of a pride of lionesses, and the warmth of sunshine.
Crafted by Senior Perfumer Amandine Clerc-Marie, it features a trio of vanillas: vanilla infusions, the brightest woody vanilla, vanilla caviar, a first in fragrance, and vanilla absolute, a darker, richer iteration.
The result is a warm, creamy, and enigmatic scent that’ll have you spritzing for more.
In the words of my partner: "It's the kind of scent that demands attention."
Notes:
  • Head: Vanilla infusion and lavender.
  • Heart: Vanilla caviar.
  • Base: Vanilla absolute, enriched with cocoa and ginger roots.

Burberry Her EDP.

One of, if not the most popular femme fragrances by Burberry, Her embodies the spirit of London with its modern gourmand composition.
It harmonises crushed berry fruit with a fresh floral heart and ambery base for a fragrance that’s bold, bright and playful; much like the city itself.
Upon first spritz of the EDP, the first words I wrote down were: yummy, fun and sexy.
I also noted its beautifully minimal bottle design: understated, modern and chic. It doesn’t have to try hard to impress, it just does.
Notes:
  • Head: Raspberry, blackcurrant and blueberry.
  • Heart: Violet and jasmine.
  • Base: Musk and amber.
In addition to the EDP, Burberry Her is also available in other iterations with slightly different notes and sillage, depending on your taste and preferences:

Burberry My Burberry Blush EDP.

Capturing the essence of a London garden after rainfall, My Burberry offers a floral fruity fragrance with a citrusy twist.
In contrast to the boldness of Burberry Her with its bright berry notes, My Burberry is a more elegant, grown-up take on a fruity floral scent.
Available in three versions, my pick is the Burberry My Burberry Blush EDP.
It’s light and bright, like springtime in a bottle.
Its *stunning* bottle design is inspired by Burberry’s iconic trench, featuring a marble cap and a bow in the same gabardine fabric used for the coats.
This is the kind of fragrance you’ll want out on display. Just perhaps not in your guest bathroom (she’s a little too nice to share).
Notes:
  • Head: Pomegranate and lemon.
  • Heart: Rose petals and apple.
  • Base: Jasmine and wisteria.

Blush aside, here are the other My Burberry options:

Burberry Mr. Burberry EDP.

Debuting in April 2016, Burberry Mr Burberry was introduced as the masculine version of My Burberry.
Inspired by London at night, its composition is classified as woody herbal; contemporary yet classically British in structure.
It opens with fresh and aromatic notes, develops into a spicy, herbal heart, and settles into a warm, sensual base.
My partner described it like “Diving into the ocean, and realising the further you get out the rougher the water is."
Translated in layman's terms: (I think he means) it’s dynamic, refreshing, salty and a little mysterious.
Notes:
  • Head: Tarragon and cinnamon.
  • Heart: Patchouli.
  • Base: Amber, smokey vetiver.
In addition to Mr. Burberry EDP is Burberry Mr. Burberry Eau de Toilette 100ml, a slightly lighter, slightly sweeter take on the contemporary scent.

Burberry Hero EDP.

I remember the 2021 Burberry Hero campaign like it was yesterday – a horse, a beach, a shirtless Adam Driver; how could one forget such a viral moment?
Albeit a centaur, Driver represented the story Hero sought to tell: of freedom, transformation and modern masculinity.
Its woody, fresh scent balances sensuality with sensitivity, featuring a trio of cedarwood that apparently took over a hundred attempts to get just right.
Bold, warm, and slightly sweet, it's the kind of fragrance that makes you linger awhile, just to really drink it in.
My partner described it as “Taking a walk through the woods." And I
Notes:
  • Head: Pine and olibanum.
  • Heart: Benzoin and incense.
  • Base: Atlas cedar, Himalayan cedar and Virginia cedar.
For a slightly lighter, fresher take, check out Burberry Hero Eau de Toilette 150ml.
