I had the original 2.0 version for 12 years and I was worried that this wouldn't impress me given the price. On a positive note, I do like the added features of the curl plates, the heat proof carry bag, and that the plates get closer to the roots. Overall it's mostly the same experience, the only complaint I have is that the locking mechanism for the water tank is located in a bad spot, and when I go to pick it up I do tend to slightly bump the buttons which causes the tank to pop off. My opinion is that they should have made it a recessed button or a slide locking mechanism to avoid this, which is why I've rated it 4 stars. Although not a deal breaker, it just means I have to be careful while handling it. Everything else is perfect otherwise, although I do still think it's overpriced, I have tried other hair straighteners in the last 12 years and nothing ever compared to the 2.0 version, so for me it was still worth the money. My 2.0 version still works but is just inconvenient for travel due to how bulky it is, so I'm hoping the 4.0 lasts just as long, given that it is twice the price of the previous models.
